September 13 News and Notes Philadelphia loses two starters – 11:54 a.m.
Starting C Jamaal Jackson actually suffered a torn triceps muscle and is expected to miss the rest of the season. Reid had said Sunday that Jackson's injury was to his biceps, but he made the correction today. Reid also confirmed starting FB Leonard Weaver suffered a severe ACL tear.
A source told FOXSports.com that Weaver suffered damage to at least three ligaments in his injured left knee, plus nerve damage.
Philadelphia does not have another fullback on their 53-man roster, but they do have FB/TE Garrett Mills on their practice squad to consider adding. The Eagles are scheduled to work out free-agent FBs Owen Schmitt and Jason Davis on Monday.
Reid also confirmed starters QB Kevin Kolb and MLB Stewart Bradley suffered concussions. Both players will be evaluated as the week progresses, but their status for Sunday's game at the Detroit Lions remains unclear at this point. Both players must pass a series of concussion tests in order to be cleared to play.
Veteran QB Michael Vick will start on Sunday unless Kolb gets cleared for action. Backup LB Omar Gaither replaced Bradley against Green Bay and would likely start if Bradley isn't cleared. Backup G/C Mike McGlynn, who replaced Jackson, is expected to start against Detroit.
