Updated

NASCAR officials released the 2011 schedules for all three major touring series Wednesday.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule includes no new surprises after a week of announcements by tracks with new dates. The 2011 schedule includes a move of the second race of the season to Phoenix International Raceway; the change from two dates to one for Auto Club Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway; the addition of Kentucky Speedway to the schedule and an additional race at Kansas Speedway.

The Chase for the Sprint Cup will begin at Chicago and end at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

"The adjustments and realignment of the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule will make for an exciting race season next year," said NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France in a news release. "The revised schedule provides better situated dates for the tracks, a more challenging lineup for the drivers and ultimately more intrigue for the fans."

The Nationwide schedule includes a second race at both Iowa Speedway and Chicagoland Speedway. The series will utilize its new-model car in all 34 races. Kentucky Speedway's former standalone race will now be coupled with the Cup event in July and the Nationwide and Truck series will run in conjunction, without the Cup series, on three weekends – twice at Nashville Superspeedway and also at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis.

The 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will consist of 25 races, one of which will be announced at a future date. Phoenix is moving from the second-to-last race of the season to February. Darlington Raceway's event moves from August to March and Michigan's race will shift to August.
