Ravens rookie to miss training camp with head injury

BALTIMORE (Reuters) - Baltimore Ravens rookie Sergio Kindle has a fractured skull after falling down stairs and will miss training camp, the team's coach said.

Kindle, the Ravens' first pick in the 2010 draft, suffered the injury when he fell down steps while visiting friends in Austin, Texas last week. He remained in an Austin hospital.

"He stayed overnight, got up in the middle of the night and took a wrong turn," Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said on the team's website ( "It was pitch black where he was at and couldn't see where he was going and fell down two flights of steps."

Kindle, who played linebacker and defensive end in college, will be unable to travel for several weeks, the coach added.
