MIAMI (Reuters) - Free agent Juwan Howard has signed with the Miami Heat as a reserve forward, the NBA team said Tuesday.

Howard, a veteran of 16 NBA seasons, averaged six points last season with the Portland Trail Blazers.

"He is a perfect fit behind Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem," Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement.

Howard has a career average of 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds with seven different teams.
