ESPN officials say that analyst Rusty Wallace will not be suspended for a remark he made concerning Kyle Busch Friday night, according to SceneDaily.com.

Busch won the NASCAR Nationwide Series race Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway, an event carried by the network. At the end of his Victory Lane interview, in which Busch commented on negative fan reaction following the win, Wallace was heard to say, 'dumbass,' according to the story.

The story quotes a statement Wallace issued through the network apologizing for the remark.

"At the end of Friday night's telecast, I made an unfortunate remark regarding Kyle Busch," Wallace said. "There's no excuse and I certainly know better. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone, including Kyle, for my mistake."

In addition to being a television analyst, Wallace is the 1989 Cup champion and owns a Nationwide Series team that field cars for his son, Steve Wallace, and Brendan Gaughan.
