Indians promote LHP Aaron Laffey to face Reds

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have recalled left-hander Aaron Laffey from Columbus to start their series opener in Cincinnati.

Columbus, who was optioned to the Clippers on May 30, will start Friday's game against the Reds as the Indians try to snap a five-game losing streak. Laffey went 0-1 with a 3.98 ERA in four starts at Columbus.

With the Indians, he was 0-1 with a 5.61 ERA in 20 relief appearances.

Cleveland has needed a starter since sending David Huff down to Columbus earlier this week.
