CUP: Miller Lite Moving To Brad Keselowski

Miller Lite will sponsor Penske Racing’s Brad Keselowski in a No. 2 Sprint Cup car beginning in 2011, the brewing company announced Wednesday.

Kurt Busch currently drives the organization’s No. 2 Cup entry with sponsorship from Miller Lite. Busch will compete wit the No. 22 next season for Penske, with sponsorship from Shell/Pennzoil.

“Brad is one of the hottest young drivers in NASCAR, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Miller Lite Racing family,” said Andy England, chief marketing officer at MillerCoors said in a statement released by the brewer. “Rarely in this sport are you presented with the opportunity to build a relationship with a top-tier driver at the start of his career. We look forward to ‘tasting greatness’ with Brad and Penske Racing in the years ahead.”

Keselowski, 26, currently drives the No. 12 car at Penske in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series. The team has support from Verizon but carries no sponsor logos because of Sprint’s exclusivity rights in the series it sponsors.

Keselowski, in his first full season of Cup racing this year, is 25th in the current Cup standings. He has one career win, capturing the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega last April. He has twice finished third in the Nationwide Series point standings.

“The Miller Lite Racing team is accustomed to winning on and off the track, and I can’t wait to do my part to build on that tradition,” Keselowski said in a statement.

Keselowski follows Rusty Wallace and Busch in a Miller Lite-sponsored car. Miller has sponsored Penske cars for more than 20 years.

“We’re extremely proud of our long-standing partnership with MillerCoors and are excited to extend this successful relationship,” said team owner Roger Penske. “Brad is a tremendous talent with a bright future and I look forward to watching him continue the great tradition of the Blue Deuce.”
