Davis scores 2 on penalties for Dynamo, Ching hurt

HOUSTON (AP) — Brad Davis scored on two penalties to give Houston a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Thursday night in a game marred by an injury to United States forward Brian Ching of the Dynamo.

Ching, a candidate to start up front for the US in the World Cup, went down in the 28th minute with a strained left hamstring after sliding while going for a loose ball with RSL's Nat Borchers on the end line.

Houston's career scoring leader immediately grabbed for his thigh and motioned for the training staff with his left arm. He was on the field for a couple minutes before he was helped off the turf and to the locker room.

Luis Landin came on for Ching in the 31st.
