Kimbo Slice's MMA career will resume with a May 8 bout in Montreal against former NFL play Matt Mitrione.
The bout will be on the undercard of UFC 113, headlined by the rematch of Lyoto Machida with Mauricio Rua.
Slice came to national prominence three years ago. A burly, bearded former Miami strip club bouncer, he became the face of MMA after CBS began showing his bouts for its short-lived EliteXC promotion.
Slice was signed by UFC in its heavyweight division last year. He appeared on its TV reality show before making his UFC debut with a victory over Houston Alexander in December.
Mitrione played nine games with the New York Giants as a defensive tackle in 2002.
