KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — Tommy Hanson had his second solid start of the spring and Troy Glaus and Brian McCann each had three hits, lifting the Atlanta Braves to a 9-4 victory over the Houston Astros on Sunday.
Hanson gave up three runs — one earned — in 2 1-3 innings. He struck out three and said he felt fine with his effort. Hanson said he is working on fine-tuning some things in his delivery and had hoped to get in three innings.
Braves manager Bobby Cox said he wasn't surprised by Hanson's confidence. After a half season in the minors Hanson was called up to the Braves in June and went 11-2 with a 2.89 ERA in 21 starts.
Lance Berkman had two doubles for the Astros while starting pitcher Brian Moehler allowed one run on four hits in two innings.
