Canadiens' Lapierre suspended four games

TORONTO (Reuters) - Montreal Canadiens forward Maxim Lapierre has been suspended for four games by the National Hockey League Friday for a late hit on San Jose Sharks forward Scott Nichol.

The incident occurred during the third period of the Sharks 3-2 home win and saw Lapierre knock Nichols into the end boards.

Nichol was injured and did not return to the game but no penalty was called on the play.
