DALLAS (Reuters) - Left wing Steve Ott has signed a four-year contract extension with the Dallas Stars worth $11.8 million, the NHL team said Monday.
The extension puts the 27-year-old under contract through the 2013-14 season. Ott has played in 52 games for Dallas this season, scoring 11 goals and collecting 12 assists.
Also Monday, the Calgary Flames signed center Matt Stajan to a multi-year extension and the Pittsburgh Penguins acquired defenseman Jordan Leopold from the Florida Panthers. Terms of Stajan's deal were not announced.
The 26-year-old was acquired from Toronto in a January 31 trade. He has 45 points (18 goals and 27 assists) with the two teams this season.
The Penguins acquired Leopold in exchange for a 2010 second round draft pick, general manager Ray Shero said on Pittsburgh's website (http://penguins.nhl.com). Leopold, 29, had seven goals and 11 assists for the Panthers this season.
