WHISTLER, British Columbia (AP) — Lindsey Vonn will race in Saturday's Olympic super-G after taking a day off skis to rest her bruised right shin.
Vonn's husband, Thomas, tells The Associated Press in a telephone interview that resting Friday while many racers skied "definitely helped her shin out."
He says it's "one of those injuries that hurts a lot, but it's not really affecting her skiing a whole lot."
Vonn won gold in the downhill Wednesday, and led after the first portion of the super-combined Thursday before falling in the slalom run. She said her leg was "killing me."
Instead of practicing Friday, she got treatment on the shin, watched the men's super-G race on TV, and baked some banana bread.
Thomas Vonn says his wife still plans to race all five Olympic events.
