BEREA, Ohio (AP) — The Cleveland Browns have hired Tom Headlee as a pro scout and signed free agent defensive back John Bowie.
Headlee has spent the last 10 years in Seattle as an assistant coach and then defensive quality control coach. He worked under Mike Holmgren while with the Seahawks. Holmgren is now the Browns' president.
Bowie has appeared in five games over the last three seasons with Oakland before coming to the Browns on Friday. The Raiders drafted him in the fourth round in 2007. He is a native of Columbus, Ohio and started 12 games at the University of Cincinnati.
