'Flags In' for Memorial Day

Service members from all military branches are volunteering to place American flags next to hundreds of thousands of gravestones in military cemeteries nationwide, part of a massive coordinated effort the military has dubbed "Flags In." In Arlington National Cemetery alone, troops and volunteers will decorate more than 260,000 graves.

Calverton National Cemetery

More than 6,000 volunteers will be placing American flags at the 172,000 graves at Calverton National Cemetery on New York's Long Island.
