Peaceful Ending

" A frightening start to the school day in upstate New York where this missing mountain high school was on lockdown. After a gunman took the principal hostage. The suspect -- man in his forties who reportedly is a former student. Ultimately surrendered to police. Joining us now TJ -- in the duchess county sheriff's public information officer and TJ what was this guy upset about we know."

" We don't know our investigation is continuing. All right and and what were the circumstances he just barged into the school. Our understanding is that he went into the school at approximately 7:45. This morning. I and then once he was inside. Produced some sort of firearm. He then went into the middle school and -- office and was holed up there any shots fired. There were no shots fired the students are safe. These school district. Has. Emergency plans that were followed things worked out very very. That's -- sheriff's office. On the -- but they -- other agencies that were involved and bring it to its successful conclusion."

" We have some video of now of some of your officers walking this guy into the the ambulance I guess it is really he's obviously in custody. Did he ultimately give himself up or did you have to storm the room in which -- was hiding."

" My understanding is that that we were able to successfully negotiate -- surrender."

" And what about students. I imagine you know pretty traumatic for them but nobody hurt."
