Governor thanks for being with us. I thank U -- big night for Republicans yet tell us how big. Well -- or 993 when our chairman of the Republican National Committee. And we want her governorship of New Jersey was Christie Todd Whitman and Virginia -- George Allen that turn out to be the springboard to the victories in 2000 TN. Now it's too early to predict that but I know this. These elections are gonna help candidate recruiting for particular House of Representatives. Brett sixteen years ago after these elections. More than half of the 77 freshman Republicans elected in 1994. Made the decision to run for congress after the New Jersey and Virginia governor Drudge is I saw it -- I'm never gonna run this is not a -- here. So wallets it's too early decide what 2010 is gonna end up like. There's no question that these elections propel Republicans in the 2000 -- Governor there will be Democrats obviously who say in the New Jersey race that the issues of property taxes and the issues of corruption. We were high on the exit polls and that the candidate was in trouble from the beginning governor Corzine. How do you respond to that that this was a local situation. And not a national. Explanation for the Republicans. Well -- it any time incumbent governor for reelection. The election is to some degree. A referendum all that accomplished record there's no question that governor Corzine's record. Health care bill that would drive up the cost of health insurer should cost jobs. Energy bill that would drive up the cost of energy and cost jobs. All of that hurt. Every democratic candidate on the ticket so yeah sure it's it come with reelection is somewhat a referendum on his record. But in this case Corzine had that ended wait. Scaring him down of the unpopularity. Of the administration's policies in Washington. Governor how much do you think tonight changes the political landscape going forward and does it send a message to conservative Democrats perhaps on Capitol Hill. Who are having to deal with tough votes on cap and trade and also health care reform. In coming weeks. Thought I can't imagine that Democrats in congress. Are not push back and we'll take a deep breath and are cautious about voting for health care bill that clearly hurt great deeds and and Virginia voting for an energy bill that clearly hurt d.s in Virginia. In Virginia so close to wash -- wash it needs media dominates much of Virginia. And these policies were unpopular. Bob -- dolls are great candidates the Republican elected governor of Virginia but remember he had great -- ran against each other for years ago. That there's no question a -- Democrat member. I look at this and say okay Democrats got her about these policies.
