Turning Point?

" It is election it across the country and here in New York conservatives are preparing to take back the Republican Party. Now all eyes are focused on New York's 23 district with the departure of liberal Republican DD styles of Bob -- Has opened the door for Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman to ride a tidal wave of support. All the way to Washington DC two dozen fathers exit now -- Hoffman to face Democrat Bill Owens. And 20050 so liberal that she quickly endorsed the Democrat Owens and is reportedly making robo calls on his behalf."

" That is not stopping Hoffman."

" After racking up endorsements from former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty and Fred and Jerry Thompson and many others. The latest Siena poll shows him leading Owens by five points ahead of tomorrow's election. And joining me now is the candidate himself Doug Hoffman along with two of his biggest supporters -- and Jerry Thompson of the Jerry and Fred show. National syndicated radio show guys good to say thanks for being -- Great to see you Anheuser-Busch. Are right now first of all Doug I mean you gotta feel pretty good. What do you think about I was very upset and I gotta give Jerry -- city Tia -- credit she was the first to bring this to my attention. And I gotta get -- a lot of -- she really pointed out. Just how liberal Scott as a father was. And then you got Jerry in Fred and then Governor Palin obviously played a big role listened and some other politicians filed suit at that point. Why do you think the Republican Party nominated. Such a liberal Republican. Well I guess we'll never know the only thing I can say is that news just partied. Politics behind closed doors in the bosses decided do just annoy some way I was aware. Yet I put -- nationally I understand they got as much as what 900000. Dollars from that the Republican Party. That's gotta be a little bit frustrating Cuba it's odd that now intermediate three times you're conservative Reagan Republican. And here's a woman that supports card check gay marriage abortion rights. The stimulus package that she got the Republican support on average frankly didn't understand."

" Why don't either and that's why I decided to run I just felt that the voters in the 23 district would not have a choice on the ballot if I didn't put in mind my hat in the ring and I I felt that I had to do it. --"

" Jerry I gotta give. I'm obviously you're the first person and you sent via a series of emails."

" As the leader of you know what I you can admit that I have done do you have really deny you that I really appreciate you being so kind to to not put it that way he cannot -- right that we."

" I wasn't paying attention to disclose leaves you war and then I started reading your emails and -- started the you know wrap my arms around it. It wasn't just me by the way -- they were the other conservatives mark -- is another one and then we spoke at length about it. How did you pick up on this race before everybody else what what drew you to this."

" Well actually. Michael Long as the head of the Conservative Party in new York and he and that party of New York had endorsed Fred -- Fred ran for president so we had a relationship there. And we really you know believe it cannot actually cared about the things that Fred ran Eileen we keep our -- to big -- we have a radio show we get to have lots about what's going on in the country and we follow these tea parties like you doing it -- right side -- and it's smart clip then and it's this season the add Vanilla these grassroots groups. Are coming up from all around America saying we're not gonna do this is not good enough and I'm not that I'm just not gonna have. I'm not read anything to do with a party that the chooses someone like that when I know there's someone out there like it's gonna -- things that were all second floor. And what a great story that he that he's not a politician that he's a CPA with he's a small businessmen that knows what the policy agendas and it did so. God bless him for don't know we're all here you -- you should've seen the crowd here. Joe Biden Syrian delegates are 200 people and a hundred of those were Secret Service. Yeah I'm resenting the people brought out there I mean I was they're that in hearsay Goodell village but. And it's really happening shined so thank you get everybody to engaged to Doug Kaufman -- the five attend the fifty dollars it and we're here."

" Well its forecast for the center for budget Doug. Not so I'm very grateful for all the support I got from around the country in within the district people really stood up and join my fight and I think that's why we're here tonight and were hoping for victory tomorrow as senators."

" You let you really got involved. I assume you're getting the same emails I was getting from Jared. The -- actually a little more pointed to America. You're right you're right from the same source not us but put it all unless the -- the first. National figure -- Governor Palin I think it was the second big national political figure to jump on board this. But you know you're up there tonight shot riches up their god bless them and he's she's been playing music at this event immigrant performance he's phenomenal but -- You know what what drew you to this race senator."

" Well Sean I think something very special -- is happening. Appear that this is an unusual set of but circumstances and people are there are saying chicken and say they never seen anything like it. You have to liberal candidates in general the party's nominee is and then you have this spectrum and from from left field who's not a politician just -- took him. All along and you know it's true we all know the story mr. Smith comes to Washington this is this is the real life. Case. And people are simply concerned about the direction their country's going man. They're seeing things change in and a wave it's. The that's not beneficial live are moving away from common sense of values. And and policy is that have made us the strongest in the freest. And they're really concerned we're spending the birthright of the next generation and then people are sure."

" Coming together across party lines to say noted that senator are you as angry as I am I'm I'm kinda angry with the Republican Party. Because I think -- and other radios -- this for the longest time mom I'm a conservative I'm rating conservative. And I felt the Republican Party lost some of those conservative values and conservative principles. That brought them the power when Reagan was elected brought the power in 94. And then they go ahead and pull a bone headed move like this and unlike you -- is still not getting it. He think this has got a long way to wake them up."

" This is this is yeah this this is gone a long way out frank with the practical consideration. Of disposal problem being the only one that could get elected here. Ruled out and of course they were they were wrong on a couple of very important -- They misjudged the American people more the American people. Our you know. An ideology what conservative ideology is different from a political parties. Political party has to engage in certain. Practical things and circumstances change -- with regard to the candidates and positions and so forth this case was a no brainer and channel. But you know ideology with -- would not connected with a party can always win middle it'll lose a lot of times when a party. A party not connected to. -- ideologies have no realism to win out what did you gain if you game victory under those circumstances if you don't believe in the things. That made this country great."

" It's like what it's like a President Reagan said he had -- us out -- said -- no pale pastels we want bold color differences and in this case Doug I mean. When when spousal -- pulled out and then endorsed a Democrat I thought that spoke volumes about the very things. That that Jerry and Fred of the Jerry and Fred show and and people like myself --"

" Absolutely. See exactly what I was saying when I got in this race and it did just prove that. House correct issues more liberal than the Democrat. And we all had to stand up and fighting for all right I will say this Jerry Thompson you are very persuasive. And I give you a lot of credit -- no way ahead of the curve and he -- really deserve it because I think this really help you home home half."

" I'm blasted a shot -- it it was a team effort by everybody in America for CNN. Really really win when he gets everybody's got to get out to the polls we got to vote tomorrow Volvo Volvo but everything about New Jersey hot and about New York Tony Perry."

" And I'm still have to stand up and fight invoked. Well this I think this is a referendum on -- a lot of what's been going on the country which is moving radically to the left. And I think this election is going to be watched I hope among the at this time tomorrow night I'll be able to declare you the winner Doug thanks for the Welsh.
