You can also email us and we'll throw that email address read up on the bottom the screen treasure and foxnews.com. Quite so first let's jump in -- start talking about the draw a big big release this week from Motorola. Which was -- odd the news we haven't had a lot to celebrate really from Motorola recently it's been it sort of an odd odd summer for them. First impressions --"

" Well imagine you get up at like 2 in the morning your house is completely dark you need a glass of water you stumble out of the bedroom you can't see a thing. And then that from the middle of somewhere in your house you hear this."

" Okay that in my life and really jumped out of respect for a couple of does that go off now that's the sound effect for rise after text messages we consider that for whatever. Because of the startup sound like there's little little. -- that goes back and forth stirred up and this is also. Nelson yet to get everytime you get in them this thing says. But at the you can change it via so impressions I mean."

" You know. This was they release what course we saw all the commercials. For Detroit this is a big relief for Motorola. You know having hands on with it for about ten minutes -- with a the other day. I thought the keyboard was you know there wasn't as. Everyone loves a keyboard everyone wants if if you want a slide out keyboard if you wanna QWERTY keyboard then I guess she'll be happy with this side I found keys to be a little small."

" I found it to be fast. But it's not as fast as some of these other phones so that like the Samsung moment I don't know it's much faster than the Samsung is thousands have some. Yeah I benchmark did -- six different ways and it came out up to twice as fast as the as his running multiple applications what when your benchmarking or how what is the benchmark tests and actually running benchmark apps that test CPU speed memory access file system access graphics. And the deal is even though the Samsung moments processor has a higher clock speed this is an entirely different architecture because that was the difference then because I was -- clock speed numbers. Compared to -- so what what oh why is -- different the architecture that makes it faster this is the cortex a eight it's the kind of processor. It's the kind of processor used in the iPhone three GS and the Palm Pre. And -- you know it's kinda like it's kind of like gone from a four cylinder to an eight cylinder engine in your car. It's it's just it's just a processor that is inherently faster per clock cycle in many ways because that same number of megahertz you get two to three times the performance."

" Parliament just check with our Booth here just got an email from Indian doctor Leo we are good with Andy. We're now he says. Oh okay -- how don't I just send him via the proper use the proper phone number to call -- so I hope that that's the right one that might. The camera for this to you can have a -- try to get him on. Okay compress the for so any -- you're watching out there we need to send me an email with your phone number that wicket for that to our Booth and we'll get this taken care of wanna have you jump in here and he has it. He's sitting by right now with adroit in his hand so. A new easy to get on -- get them on here so just stay and if you're watching police -- sending email and they'll get a -- job what are your impressions of it."

" I'm actually fairly excited I mean Motorola has been. Down a -- sling. The last great it was a razor. So something like this that comes out. Right around the same time as new phones from -- And potentially something from apple down the line is actually -- nursing spectrum holidays so you have a you have a great cell phone. With a keyboard and really fast operating system with most the social networking features that all the other android phones who've recently have like the hero. The palm which isn't an android phone that has all the social networking could use. And it's what it's Sasha said it's a lot faster than any other -- and."

" It is and that 854 by 480 screen it is just amazing for web browsing. That's one of the most intriguing parts of this device and I think we're seeing that now certainly the Smartphones it's in the screens are only gonna get bigger this is bigger than an iPhone screen -- like what a quarter of an inch. But it has almost twice as many pixels -- the screen is."

" Far far higher resolution than the iphone's CC even though the web browsers have same course they're both based on technology called web kit. -- a situation where you open up a webpage on my phone you have to scroll left -- right you know right up web page on here to see the whole thing. I think one of the instant things and they really they really showcase this on the phone. You see the picture I guess on the screen right all that grave there is actually very very highly textured concrete it really looks. Yeah that's the opening screen really understand if you if you actually open up and try to go back and forth on the main screen. You -- to get textured concrete on the background. And it's extremely detailed it's amazingly -- it is it'll scratches in this picture that's obviously just the background but to have back kind of -- kind of resolution screen even fonts look better on a high risk reminds us."

" Looking at compared to be you know the Motorola click. Some another you know another phone that's become enough it's not yet right for us to -- some Hanson yeah roughly until. Why don't get this phone over that. With a click is really -- niche product the clip is for people who -- obsessed with either FaceBook MySpace or Twitter. And if you are person who leaves and dice in the moment by FaceBook MySpace or Twitter there is literally nothing like the click it is like eight. Heroin injection directly into your being upset but okay -- blur feature exactly. If you were not obsessed with one of those services you'll find the click profoundly and knowing. Yeah so that click kind of fulfills that intense social networking at this is morbid general purpose device that comes at this. Kind of blank stock android interface that you can configure however you want. But it is in today dismissed customized with the click towards that one feature."

" One thing I noticed is that Verizon. Usually puts a bunch of like -- vcast stuff on there. Sort of these two different applications for TV. But this had none of that this was just really clean screen. When you started up there's only one or two applications installed already FaceBook is on there but it's not really front senator."

" I have to try to get in here on the line I don't know. Verizon did say their there rhapsody music client is coming -- never really looking forward to that because it deals with -- that big minuses with this phone. Which is there is no way to sync music and video that he's safe for what it's like. There is it's not that it's not that the alternative to iTunes is inadequate it's that there is not doesn't exist it doesn't exist there's some its third great programs you can get that are open source seeking a double twist. But that's all really geeky. And it's kind I think for the average user."

" I mean it if you plan to send directly into the computer right now right have a show up it's like a Disco and here on your computer you can actually drag. Video or music but they don't show -- I drag on lots of lots of video. There's no video player there is you know hidden but at -- they guessed yet begun to."

" Gallery okay perfect when they get from just cost you over it and gadgets that like -- like this he said. You know it's hard to look at the -- without looking at the company which brought the device to a Motorola he says you for years this team has been synonymous with disappointment. Who is that accurate description of Motorola. Motorola is a -- Motorola's manic depressive company and that's been true or -- 3040 years. They have these they have these crazy up and down cycles."

" Pays that Andy this is Andy Andy hey it's quite nice to see it finally -- that idea. Back to when he found the office right now target which when I'm calling you know which -- calling out did you called adroit. Icon. After well I don't lose the first endorsement for the -- I call one number on my iPhone and those the wrong number of incidents like call you on the -- cut --"

" All the I I saw -- yet -- of -- Boston right now -- If I quit yet thought enough you're stuck up in the wilds of Vermont like usually you having trouble there that neck of the woods -- the show and it's great to have you on here we -- just chatting about Detroit as we open up the show. Wanna get your first impressions about it is we've sort of went around the horn here what it after playing with -- bit. We think."

" I like it I haven't had a you're talking I mean literally one half hour. After starting to play with that because it arrived about the -- for the show out of the build quality is really very good I think -- was big big super Verizon and Motorola did something a little bit -- here. We're when -- ticket out of the box they want you to make sure -- the acute that there is a mechanical keyboard because it's packed inside the box with a keyboard halfway deployed at a that's one of the okay if I always thought of but very very good quality builds you can tell that has a much snap your processor than previous android phones because. These touch our current system is so much more responsible than it was before it's still not quite as intuitive and this is this not quite quite as reactive as the iPhone operating system is. That's already pretty big leap forward. Has the haptic response every time you're talking these many -- the -- get some positive feedback. I was looking that I know that I prefer to -- G1 and of course the first application launch was Google Maps the updated on the turn by turn directions. And so what's it navigated me from the kitchen to the opposite unknowingly and the spoken directions."

" The fifth and that's of course one of the big features that we're hearing about is -- is the turn by turn. Feature from Google which is in this device which we also hear you're hearing and its gonna become the iPhone soon. What's your experience that you play with the turn by turn Sasha."

" No I actually don't try it and so I'm sending it to argue PS reviewers to do the can make himself. I jump what do you I."

" Try to recently I think. One of the most interesting things. We get this on screen well here by got a screen shot here -- look at if I actually. One of the great things about it actually tap the location where you are you actually see a live view. Of the street in front of the action doesn't mean streak alive wall slow yeah yeah it's if you have -- pretty incredible -- life death. Controlling satellite."

" Yeah I did I -- notice I called up some routes even though I could not follow them as I was not in a car and it had very loud prompts the prompts were clear things came up pretty quickly. The real question is -- like -- reviews the question is when you're going fifty miles an hour how responsive as it. Is it going to call the prompt before you get to the intersection at fifty miles an hour if you -- in the wrong direction it's going to recalculate quickly -- that's the real."

" Andy you you've been working on this you just actually published a column yesterday on turn by turn. GPS so I wanna get your sense of how. This unfold the what does this do to TomTom I mean I'm curious people are pretty we've been hearing well he's iPhone killers as this is it to Tom -- killer."

" I wouldn't say so I think that I think it's going to shake -- all of the middle ground GPS navigators I've looked at every single GPS navigator for the iPhone. And there's so many of them that are just mediocre -- deliver every feature that most people just. Played one that's the sweet spot of navigation that 80% of I'm here probably get there but applications like Tom Harman -- excellent that I was my favorite from the iPhone. That's -- to something really important it's all about interactive guidance is all about how much information you give me with one really quick glance. I do after really stare at the screen and ongoing at 65 miles an hour Don Imus be fired before figure out when -- gonna need to turn. And so from what I've seen both through videos and from using this I -- for the past half hour. I would certainly prefer to have either a real muscular apple like TomTom. Whether it's for -- reverse for the iPhone or whatever. Then rely on this exclusively. Or my navigation but it really does mean that it now it's so much more expensive to try to compete with school because that's usually can be with pretty yeah."

" These there's also also remembered that the vast majority of Americans the vast majority of people in the world don't have android phones are iphones. And even apple only intends to be what 10% of the phone market so that other 90% which don't have iphones or that other 80% which kind of icons and android phones. They're still gonna want navigation device yet and that's for the weird thing won't be available to them."

" Yeah Edward thing is the -- application costs you 99 dollars you can buy a physical best fort TomTom for 69 dollars minimum. And has a much better GPS receiver harbor to the and anyone your me."

" Tricks for this was that. GPS shouldn't be should be just as complicated as the rear view mirror things -- said in -- which is great even -- get a quick glance from it. Anyone knows responsive and you don't want it you almost want to dissolve. Into your rear view mirror you almost wanted to dissolving your -- where you don't want to be intrusive did you find that was the case with us."

" Oh win beyond what Detroit phone yeah. Not really I think it's as good as as many GPS navigator is out there it gives you moving map display. There's a line -- text at the top to bottom of the screen don't tell you your next turn is coming up in one point three miles will be turning right. But it doesn't give you look back really cool hybrid displays the that the application alone was from by motion next and has this. Great display were -- just one big orange -- say right. Dummy here is the name of the place you wanna turn to is coming up in exactly 500. Beat. And that's the sort of thing we you can get that information and one quarter of a second if that long. And is like a third Ramirez goes I was driving with a four I -- with an opera to monster that is my favorite out and it's just part of that little -- when you go. Turn signal. OK good at the."

" If you had to pick and I know some of these other ones are programmable -- you can actually pick and then customize as -- can because you know males switzer famous actor. John would you pick. To do the voice yeah. I think the Simpsons -- was pretty cool Simpson's Africa and -- like telling which -- ago. Yeah Jeff I would I would if if I had a choice and it was available I pick it -- it back and sell them -- that's available at. On -- device organizers some if he had a it was your favorite."

" Probably would have to be the way that Jackie Stewart used to call the F one race is on TV."

" Could I get a lot of accidents but and a lot more on the commute -- especially when -- going fifty miles an hour ago that -- yeah that's I'm gonna take a life waited on Sasha. You can vote on -- to -- I would say I would go with one of those one that's -- of Willis British female voices. Buried the ferry heaving in an -- yeah looking -- them."

" is it hot hot hot hot. It just makes -- it just makes driving -- more enjoyable when you have a voice in your head. -- wanted to jump into we're gonna reveal if you vote. Writing -- wanna know what this ominous looking black device is sitting next to me here we've got the brand new iMac the 27 inch iMac here. -- we're gonna reveal what a few minutes we're gonna dive into it. -- final thoughts on sort of the apple ecosystem though this one thing we've been seeing some people writing about obviously the the ecosystem for android. People you know obviously praising android for its openness praising android for its ability to be on all kinds of devices praising android that it's free. But the very thing we get excited about is android may also be the thing I think that might be holding this back which is the ecosystem the -- ecosystem and we you know. Being able to customize. I mean I think Scoble post summing up to -- about. Team to beat the iPhone you have to have an equal amount of applications. To what the app store now has because that's not actually -- but but it does what he said which is infinitely. Customizable. Disagree."

" Totally disagree. The sheer number. Remember how much of the iphone's app store consists of for instance identical speed dial apps that are differentiated only by having dad and mom logos because you can't have an -- with multiple icons right at hundreds of book apps right exactly. So what you need to have it is all the apps people are looking for an inference on its way."

" And truly is I think -- a solid second place at this point did you have about 10000 apps what's interesting though is. But wait too many of the gaps in the android market."

" Are programmed by these sort of little individual fourteen year old kids and their basements. And not enough by the big software companies with a flashy products it's almost impossible to find the 3-D game. And I'm really hoping that category get stepped up."

" Well I just wrote about that and maybe you can correct me. The limits on the android android 2.0 four after installation is turned to -- megabytes onboard you can install on the card for example you can X this poem -- storage. To say for example you wanted to write missed which was video games for sure. The PC and Mac four years ago and it's written runs on iPhone fairly well but missed his summer point seven megabits it's almost two gigabyte. She can actually put it on an iPhone and you can't get all those Randy check it all those. Those textures you calculus 3-D graphics onto a android phone you're just you're absolutely right that's one of the problems and."

" It what do we think about that. Well I think that Google's gonna make two different groups of people happy very good enough people in the media what -- gonna have to make happy users. And they're gonna have to make the developers happy they're. The reason why the iPhone does so well is because it makes the users happy by not affect -- your number applications is the fact that so many of them are such very very higher quality there's so many PRI's under the hood. That make it so easy for a program to make programs that look. Awesome and respond obsolete. That the download your first three apps and you're pretty much took on iPhone. But the second thing is that so they've Michigan Minnesota opera stuff the gold rush is on if you wanted to learn how to develop a brand new system. You can learn how to look for her Google you're gonna learn how program for a pretty well OS. Or you can learn how to program per iPhone and here's a list of 100 people who are making eight to 10000 dollars. One week per week or even per day on a hot application that made it into the top ten. That's was gonna attract the top developers not only that but the sort of developers where it's intimidate people who expect to but they invest some money into developing this thing got a big return -- that's going to be their biggest problem."

" Yeah and you -- about that some of the art and some of the android developers I've spoken to one of their big frustrations is the disparate marketplace and having development partner you applications to different to different phones and one of the things I was talking to an android developer said. We're still waiting for that -- device we want. Again to your point John and be able to develop and bring a you know with all that processing speed on certain device and I'll be able to match and another device that's a big problem."

" Fragment the argument that I think an interesting anecdote about iPhone again one of my writers here assurance from my mobile site mobile crash he wrote a program call but all it is a -- Press the button sometimes when these little things went up and get points it's very pal log -- it's very sit there and you haven't done. All he has these tiny -- on the bottom and eventually he's gonna CEMEX has contests and things like when you press the button at the right time when it next something happen. Every everybody button lights up at exactly thing lost that it's -- You sit there and press a button -- everybody but light at the same time you can you can beat other people to pressing the button on earth. He's making it up and I'll tell you he's making Mormon and right -- it is their food count and don't. I duplicates when -- about an -- of -- but he's making more money that I pay it now he's able to he's able to. To basically blog is now a side business compared to the the deficit through."

" So he's like -- he's like the pet rock. It's a button that it is but. -- that's amazing. It's Tbilisi with the people are saying in the comments section. That the that the water is it worth scripting. John writes is it worth switching from an iPhone to. Android to jump to Verizon it's worth switching if you were iPhone drops calls a lot because here in one of those cities where AT and t.'s network is completely -- yeah well that's yeah. Here's a commercial corset made its rounds it was quite popular over the past few weeks for the -- piccolo."

" Fool."

" Annoyed. Whoever saw -- I got scared we are being negative effect. I don't think versus a balloon -- the bottom there about my house could be movie yeah I think -- so as a replied that ad which again I don't know. Some of the things they hit on that which were I you know I don't take pictures in the dark OK I don't to a it's either like this one. Five mega pixel I don't have a five megapixel camera. He's the general consumer going out and buying a phone because that's a five megapixel camera."

" I think a lot of the things in that -- were kind of -- ridiculous a lot of individual points. But the messages is trying to get across is that. The iPhone is not the be all end all right that's just the --"

" It's not everything exactly there here's the reply add that I guess a couple of apple fan boys put together and rolled out. Their version Kevin are great producers run around like crazy today -- data out your hand me the easy button. -- Now he's back in the Booth good role in reply at their Kevin. Hello. The iPhone came for to a response that other ads so. We'll see I don't know it'll be interesting to see you know figure for the holidays here I didn't hear the other problem I spoke from the south forward move on -- adroit. The price tag. You know I don't know what it is but I know that if I tell someone I've told this to a number of people vesting of price -- say well if you know as it is a 190 -- well it's 29900 dollar rebate. Our hate those rebates of -- things I hate those rebates and mentally when you walk into a store regardless of getting a hundred dollar rebate back later which half the time people forget to do many ways which is what we hope you do. You know you're not getting that -- you're having to come out of pocket at that moment and that. That perception of an extra hundred dollars is a big deal my wrong I can solve your problem that best -- That's what I have for. Yes that's by selling it for wanted to not yeah they're Williams out there. That's a from salt."

" And I and I know I've always been trying to figure out exactly what the I don't care what level is were phones. I think for a lot of people don't expect to get a phone for free or close some nominal fee of less than 99 bucks. I think I'm almost convinced that there's not NN box and less and then there's almost a hundred bucks to 400 bucks and people really appreciate a big difference between them yeah."

" That's one -- about android generally I think. Is when looking at one and not right now but eventually android it's gonna take over all -- you're gonna see feature phones. He's it'll flip phone that you would like give your mom I guess. Are -- be running -- and it's just you're just gonna happen there's really no reason to write your own operating system for phones anymore when you haven't."

" Yeah yesterday did you get media that doesn't go in and -- of -- I was I was gonna say already we're starting to see -- almost start to give away some other -- with the under our current system. I agree that -- rest Linux is right now that's an operating system that powers so many mobile devices from book readers all the way to phones. Andrew is going to be the free operating system that you don't you're running. Already we're having a problem though where it's great when you have one big library of software where you see someone using this great -- on your -- were found a while I'll I want my Mandarin I wanna get back to. But -- you find you have Andrew device like this Edinburgh request like this and they don't run the same software -- run the same operating system -- these poor people saw her from purity here but not necessarily the same machine that can run the same maps. -- Re compile a -- the source. Faces covered in the fact -- it's less expensive okay Atlanta I think it's because you -- you're I don't find it."

" Because what about anything pretty soon we're gonna have this we're having android running on the -- the to have -- in my hand which will on -- just a few seconds -- play with this unbelievable device I can't think thank god that a device like this came along because I don't wanna do it without. If you worry anymore about obviously any of adroit reviews jump over to PC mag dot com check out sauce is reviewed jump over to crunch here dot com. Read their review there and and Andy you're gonna ever view up -- purity. Done a review or you gonna do you."

" Of drawing up the just came in today I'm gonna be spending -- relief stress -- you affiliate of the devices fill my own so -- sometimes sometimes next week okay great. And if you want also read it is great column in the Chicago sun times about all of the iPhone news that. Excuse me be your turn by turn navigation applications check those out as well. That -- play with the AT&T one."

" And Tom Tom and your favorite but by the way and he was what was -- by a company called motion acts noted for the GPS software and -- dice game. But I look at early because they really my favorite thing I try and haven't gotten -- down again as well that's 89 dollars and and as opposed to an early ninety's Turkey three bucks a month. For access to look at a map network and you're -- for four years before it starts costing more than compound so. It's okay can you all the days to decide which -- you technically at I ruled that I think retirement gift I had broken dot com Boston Massachusetts driver. -- brother."

" All right it's time now for the could reveal this and I really -- you want to be honest here and here is the that 170 all Halloween iMac. Here we go this is the new and I had turned it on just a little while ago. Freak outs but I think that the."

" So we go -- this is the you know people are saying initially better than HD quality. -- to the apple -- to believe what -- know what that actually -- and if that was a true way to describe it but I have to say. This displays aptly gorgeous -- and so it's better than HD and that it has more than 1080 pixels deep yeah that's all I mean. So here's the chemical of some web pages here I don't use the only sharpen that master in just a second but I wanna pull up just we get the displeased here. Down here. This paper. It has its obstacles and looking right through the ground here. Help for wanna have a clear plastic. Integrate at cinematic master with the fact that I was I was I doing it upside down like an idiot at a hypocrite. All right so here's a look at that. Quotes look if you look is letting it do you look at the way you're looking at me. It's like at some weird. We are Tron effect right now. All right some people is pull up some video report like Family Guy something on on Hulu and is looking at this in the store the other day that saved. Really. I mean really impressive display. This backing here what are you guys any what was your impressions of looking at the the new 27 inch."

" Great stuff that it is a very classic. Apple's decision. These people realize that the believe it'll be you looking at every day is this is the screen so we may actually screen as good as possible that's really gonna communicate with two consumer wives spending a little extra money for a Mac as opposed to. Almost half the price were. Eight incompatible. PC. Where -- thing yeah."

" Well this. But Sony's Hulu isn't going to give you content that is high enough quality to do the screen justice right. Maybe it's only -- will. But looking at some high definition like downloaded content to our you know that you get from the iTunes store. Looking edited at any briefing you today in just look gorgeous and you really notice mean obviously the sound does not mean to be anywhere nearly as good as it is from. From song written down. Back. Yeah. So then of course a lot of a lot of news made about the magic mouse now. There was some concerns initially you were saying why have difficulty using had a difficult time using it went to the apple store and one of the you know one of the easy. One of the things I took -- right away was it the ease of use for flicking up and down and does the iPhone faster flicking up and down. One of the things I learned from from the folks at Apple was they they -- of lake showing that you -- you really do wanna hold it on its side are you doing this to finger swipe back at port for which. People -- wondering if this is going to I don't play with a long enough to know whether or not it you know air economically that's going to bother me -- not."

" It's it's it's it's where an -- cellphones and friends of mine and police don't know almost all of us -- the biggest backers the world that it uses the start cheap. Microsoft to miles because it's not complicated just simply works if you screener and you can hold it however you want. I'm -- since the my was always had a really bad job. Trying to over design. Their input devices -- great but they're not terribly easy to use my best I think. I think these great -- on the magic mouse as part of it uses so far is that gives you sort of like track ball like input. Weakness casually just sort of be looking at left and right up and down. I still don't think it's a really great mouse were clicking and dragging things across the screen I just thunderstorm used to the way that I -- miles is at this point in my life. That's hard for me to figure don't know yet to handle it this way. --"

" Apple of all company is no way and and live by it have to be given instructions on how to use something you have a usability problem if how to use it isn't obvious you have usability problem and this analysis totally non obvious than."

" Yeah I I don't I lose I guess the company can give -- that they try to put all their state into one device and they seem to be decided that with everything that would have been wrong about corporate -- put into the mouse and the rest will be awesome he's going to wow."

" Trickles down into the mouse yes they eventually I was curious about victory only -- is -- AFLAC account at the end of time bandits. Oh yeah that effect a -- that he used to indicate for the most bizarre reference that database and I'm -- by the end of the show annual top U it's early yet -- really. But looking at the display I mean who won the one of the things I'm excited about though is you know. Bill low light -- because you know if you're if you're doing photography you're working in a dark room when the concerns you had before was not being able to get the screen -- screened -- you've seen a blinded by the light. Wake up like. Pollution in the middle of the night if you wanna turn down the the display can get it almost down to off. But still have displacement a dark room not burning your rent is out those wanting I was impressed with. And the Quad Core verses the dual core I mean that's an interesting we're not gonna see a Quad Core. Until the end of the month or until the end of November. And and it's moving forward using lot of the you know Grand Central dispatch the snow leopard architecture. You know it's weird when you look at the clock speeds for you actually look at it. Three point 06 gigahertz for the for the 27 that's shipping now and then two point 66. For though Quad Core."

" Read they go with the architecture is again it's just like this 600 it's faster than the Samsung moments 800 once you're on different architectures is going by -- megahertz numbers really doesn't help -- yeah and so we have to throw that out I mean. That's the way we look at I mean that's the first thing listed when you look at -- in the real food through little about just ran this this is the Moran throughout these things faster. You can have an old you're gonna old lap Mac laptop stick Newhan here it is like friend."

" Why I'm gonna I'm gonna definitely I wanted one have been one you have been holding off getting iMac for awhile wanted one a desktop a dedicated desktop that I wanted to use for you know podcasting purpose and other things at home. Comment as sort of a media center and so I threw this in our show notes is this and one of the questions being raised is. And WIRED Magazine raising the question is this the new apple TV. -- wall multiple."

" So you can use that as a video monitor for an external video device. So I would not be shocked if Apple's trying to make a play to either create their own box that would make this a great except in a separate box externally bank uses the TV to cable card and put. That's the real -- box features from the network while still have to be able to sell the Senate and dedicated iMac and I have to have multiple Escude SK URL loveless."

" Yeah one of the things I was struck by in that media briefing had the other day I've never heard apple say this before. He's really said down. Yeah we we imagine that third party. Third parties will take advantage of what we're what we're putting together here with the new iMac as -- media system as it. And made a point to sit a couple of times about third party about third party and I've never forward. Usually when he knew that we don't really talk a third party of the."

" blew them both probably the most telling thing about the update to the apple TV's software that just struck yesterday. And this video that was very very thin on new features I don't even then there's so much of -- in terms of new features there's just talking we're supporting it. New products available in the apple store I think the most telling thing is that now they have a menu architecture that goes not. Top to dump in the screen but left to right and I think so left to right so that if you imagine now they can instantly add new menu -- to the left that. So you can imagine plug in architecture so that they can have. Support -- on streaming figured out support and that would think perhaps support for future apple devices and other people device and actually I think that's the reason why they have the new interface."

" Actually the -- had a plug in architecture for years it's kind of plug in architecture on the since it began. Is just that apple left it disabled but there's thousands of people out there including myself and my new. Yeah and founder and Yolanda and myself a year ago -- going we all have extra plug -- on our apple TV that we've added ourselves by plugging in a USB stick into the back. And it's just a matter of apple has never bother to implement."

" This this is the -- those are like when he's been destroyed when you get the plans for your company's new building and you know upset. She either isn't as much cubicle space as there was pig in the existing building does this mean you're gonna be downsizing later on. I don't think about your particular says that they are pleased to begin today they take advantage of next year it's."

" It was the saddest thing in the world -- it -- for me because this is my job so I installed the new three point -- but I have been using. -- So I upgraded and I ran a little -- stick it all runs. Technically runs but and you get a little menu that says like software extra software. And it's next to TV next movies it just right there but anytime click on any one of those things you -- the -- Yeah apple TPC telling you it's not working now it's a very precious."

" Oh good advice if anyone's hack their apple usually don't upgrade to three point oh just yet yeah. Yeah I'm waiting because. Like all of my critical children's programming on my apple TV is in. Kodak's that the apple -- doesn't natively understands that. I'm knocking out great democratic. Well this is again this is wall mount the bull. And you know I guess with its seem like a move for apple -- for the longer apple remote the new aluminum apple remote which they. Usually it usually apple to a smaller as evidenced by this who you. Bluetooth keyboard your smaller obviously without the numeric keypad. The apple mouse smaller yet they went over all worse if you want smaller on the apple remote you'd have an iPod shuffle master at the F. But -- you know one of the things again I'm really impressed with was the display and I was just flip through and if a web page she hears. Used to. So lets you waste of bandwidth dot com just happen to pull this up and -- had to say this is the best you've ever looked --"

" I've driven have a good reason why looking -- photo made totally about Photoshop than genetics and what is this. Turkey pot pie with a side of Mac and cheese where in the world reading that. That would that is the celestial will dissolve these -- it's like you're so full that included in Brookline Massachusetts are Harvard street in Coolidge corner -- the and let's take a look over here at the review from -- and crunch here."

" Really the box right there by knowing that if -- boxing machine check out the drawing on boxing here and of course he -- we hear on the -- and thank you let my Gregory is right up there -- a project united Detroit review right up front page of the PC -- that come about. And we just redesigned this week's idea and if people still be able to vote and help out that's one of these guys -- did to you open that up for. For."

" Viewers are we call readers are leaders their readers I that if -- that's what they do. I get support from in my in my television world about what people do anymore really touch you listen I don't know. So final thoughts on the on the difference what -- I -- one final question and -- I you know I discussing whether or not gonna buy a before the -- point seven inch comes with. Four gigabytes program. Asked the question doing you know -- video editing not heavy duty in the general family video and a few final cut pro using final cut express using I'm movie a lot. If you do podcast running into those -- the things. Do you wanna jump up to a higher memory you jump up to eight gigabytes. In Quad Core version is it worth it or four gigs give you enough."

" Fort -- for the average users who has comes out -- boxer and -- If you start doing video and you realize that is gonna take longer -- you imagine you. Just -- cracked open this morning there later on it's feasible to do it unless. I didn't see the actual pared down apparently can take out the back and that your memory -- it -- void the warranty technically. A lot of fun."

" Yeah one of things we -- the full of aluminum display and to any point the -- spoon via ports over here in such a water all the ports over there. You nails off."

" Well is CN SD card slot I see -- dvd drive I see. 1234. USB ports a firewire a display important ethernet and headphone microphone."

" So yes certainly with the with the -- replaced Howard down. Quickly let's just put to sleep all right so final thoughts on this -- Korea move on are you idiot you are you might want of these did you say -- violent means."

" No I -- the 24 inch iMac just do you leave out two years ago. That is still serving my needs admirably he didn't know a lot of these IMAX I wonder what this is doing to Mac Pro that tower desktop Mac sales because. There's no harm the IMAX is so powerful these days most and any regular person or going to be a professional will find is enough enough power and an iMac had just do we're gonna wanna do."

" Yeah you guys absolutely gorgeous too big for my apartment and at a and a have -- by the Mac program been -- for a few years. It's do for. In other years. Great the final thoughts on the magic mouse and you sir would you."

" I really I'm such conservative when it comes demise I think it's an interesting idea but I think Apple's still chasing out the idea of they're that they're very good effort freestyle portion of the miles competition they're not very good the composer is."

" get it away get to the way. Freak -- and I use a Logitech MX which has two little scroll wheels all over the place it's grades have the it's. Works on any surface actually. So I've I've bought of its common. I guess today. And yes I've played with a long enough to to really feel when you know you have the two finger swipe backwards forwards for page going backwards and forwards. If you -- and it paid cash you can also view. The rotating you can actually use one finger actually rotate photos in iPhoto and so -- that was actually pretty neat. But again air economically I don't know. How. If I'm gonna -- I kept trying to do it I kept Blake. A full well when you think there's a race of aliens that they've built the more that actually have fingers opposable middle finger like don't know humane finger in the middle. Which allows you to do that it could've been even worse if you pick could be could be like district nine."

" Because -- it was it was designed by the recipient can -- have ever heard this big fans can operate at funeral the front of people with little longer finger at. All right so that is the new that is 127 inch iMac from apple of course in the 21 -- out and that the Quad Core shipping at the end of the month the other 27 -- available now and I wonder you know there --"

" This discussion about this mystery air freight that we heard Tim -- talking about and there airfreight costs were gonna be through the roof come holiday season is too much higher than they were last year. Reason and the -- in -- one question whether or not they didn't get these things out in time authority they're cheaper way to ship it which is through ship. You actually shipping it -- a boat. And going to be flying these things out or there was some other device that we hear from Phil -- the holiday lineup set no more devices so I assume. 27 inch iMac is probably why they're gonna be spending more on air -- this year. -- and they did a story that's Somali pirates and equipment ownership comes and play -- structure and reducing -- are mostly windows guys mostly mostly windows me and -- about. We'll talk about windows it's been one week about approximately. A little over one weeks and so finally the the masses got their hands on windows seven. Broke all kind of sales records. Amazon pre order sales. All kinds of the all kinds of records across the board. Now we've had one week to digest windows seven what do you guys hearing from readers. From listeners from viewers about their experiences one week out and having to upgrade."

" The difference. Good that it depends on what they're XP unit uses or win or Vista users to vista's user -- are uniformly delighted with the upgrade. Windows XP are still picking their belongings out of the rubble. Yeah I mean even to just move over you know it. In others some disingenuousness -- apple ads about moving different things but you know that is true if you're running XP you're having to. Pull off -- put it. Dump it onto thumb drive don't dump off on a backup hard drive and then try to upgrade and actually go through to a clean install the windows seven it's not an easy process and it. No it's not at all what you really need is a product called lap link PC mover which he does it all for you. That you run that many -- on the upgrade and then you run peace and over again it restores all of your apps in your documents for next day. But yeah I mean as Andy says. The upgrade process from XP is painful the upgrade process from vista's relatively painless but everybody and I was actually got it on their computer loves it. -- just go back real quick one question who's got in the air on Twitter I went through its upward move on the iMac which is. I was saying the question might you know it's between the Quad Core. And the dual core right now it's available. And -- this person's."

" Can a computer Mike writes he says I think the real choice goes between a Quad Core I five in the quiet and -- Quad Core I seven. Is that do you think that's accurate. That the real choice is between those two which is also both of those are being shipped."

" I think I think Burmese BC we need to see a lot of applications a lot of users out on the field before we could definitively say that was going to be about the best choice via. It is it because like Vista I mean not that you know. We'll -- difference here and operating systems but we were promised all of these things from Vista and it wasn't vista's. Fault necessarily it was we were hearing most from Microsoft. Which was. When all these people get on board -- using you know with using Vista properly everything we -- who is what gave them. But then it'll all be in the world is is gonna be a better place that never materialized is that sort of what we're hearing here with us. With with when a seven -- with nobody Quad Core you have. Core I seven versus core -- five people be able to take."

" Advantage of that architecture. I think I think that'll come with time. I think you do generally see application developers. Taking advantage of new architectures especially from Intel. I'm so I don't think that's going to be a huge problem I think just enough of these machines as Andy says -- in the people's hands him."

" Now this I was little I was disappointed I was the I -- the long briefing at the Microsoft has this. Center -- on the MIT campus called New England research and development senator you partnered with senator. And that's where that's sort of blow of the local center of all the Microsoft web development education and developer. Research and how fast on specific questions about always support you what are you doing to make sure that your making full advantage of -- awful core processors. And they weren't able to tell me anything specific about anything that they were doing was mostly that we feel as though that. Though the new processes and new processes are what are rising tide floats all boats. As opposed to I had. The similar sort of briefing that I -- apple when ten point six came out they spent twenty to thirty minutes explaining these new technologies that they're doing to make sure they squeeze. Every iPhoto power that you get out of every he's so him. In the motherboard. So after receive benefits off."

" I think what what what happens usually isn't the the end user. We're using these IMAX and using. When SN BC's there have been differences in between architectures. Initially are extremely minuscule. But suddenly when you have sort of Photoshop that gets upgraded or a video editing suite tickets -- then it becomes what actually think about that and that's really for the -- tumors professional guys who do you wedding photos or even guys in the design studio. The real difference between these architectures is almost. In testament to the average user --"

" A system back in terms of our thoughts on windows seven and whether or not people you know one big question of course is for enterprise. And I had him here Fox News Channel anyway I don't know how many thousands of computers this place has for crying out loud. I don't know what stormy we're still running XP a strikeout running windows when it's 2000 -- But we are running windows XP here and I don't I've heard. Word one about upgrading to windows seven but are we hearing out across the board from a lot of enterprise users lot of businesses can be upgrading windows seven have already started doing that."

" I talked to somebody and finance for example in those desert thinking. Fairly hard about upgrading one of the tricks is they have to go through the fine toothed -- about security. Make sure little apps work but I think the key here is that windows seven has an XP compatibility. Which is via a direct. It's sort of a mode for the system to. Rather -- cut and run a fifth -- who's calling your Detroit run XP without without. Any issues in terms of you lie and drag architecture in terms of back and that's."

" Businesses didn't upgrade to Vista -- hope now it makes it doubly hard for them right. Yep absolutely. The people have been talking to people doing installations of anywhere but thousands of 4000 seats. Are telling me that they are absolutely convinced that they need to upgrade to windows seven because it will make the expense of maintaining every single one of those species go down alarmingly. But they also have to figure out what it's like it's like how we were there it's gonna be such there's so much down time there's gonna be an all hands on deck operation to get all these old XP boxes operated. And I'm sure that they use the apple fans are gonna be point two a lot of figures are well. We've got some of them but -- for six months now and look how -- better -- users have upgraded. You and pain that you you that I was a good point that was made these people think differently people who support these machines usually they think a year in advance if there's still no adoption a year and a half from now. Don't be significant data point -- have convinced that most people who are supporting more than fifty computers -- really gonna be wanting to operate the windows seven -- the -- of getting."

" You live about seven minutes left and wanna try to get to the -- but I just wanna mention that and even had you had hands on. Quite awhile now with with the Archos five tablets. I'm curious -- and really curious about this have had a chance to play -- yet what are your thoughts on this thing. I'd like a lot."

" I then that's the start openness of this device compared to an iPod Touch. Which is going to be its its main computer at its main competitor. It's very very compelling I love the fact -- that. Sorry well compared compared to an iPhone here SPR pros and here is senator Barack -- so it's significantly larger. And you can actually really feel that difference especially when you're trying to view documents especially when you're trying to read books especially when you're watching movies it's not an HD quality screen but if you're gonna be on a plane for six hours I'd much rather be watching this than watching this. Yeah they're so there's only tiny things too I simply using -- it's almost time to explain this but. You see this -- happens. They look it's a case that -- I think I understand you actually might wanna put us on the table when you're when you're viewing it as it is also doubles as a toothpick after inflight. I think it's exactly. They that this does have disadvantages does show a lot of differences between the way that these two operating systems work. It's clumsy at points it slow points. They can't because there isn't enough -- content India and great marketplace yet. They have their own special apps store that is not easy to locate the apps that you want I'm having a lot more -- not just doing regular school searches for. Former -- those five packages than to simply downloading them as straight URLs. But even that demonstrates the difference between -- cool device especially the Archos and a B iPod Touch. -- Can just plug that into the mobile browser to look down Malia and install with one approval. If I don't have access to the apple iTunes store I get no software on that -- on that iPod -- at all and who's who who's gonna buy this. I think it's gonna be. I'm very attractive people both the proper choice for people who. They think they wanna netbook but even a netbook is too expensive and too big for them they want something that behaves a little bit more electric PCs to restrict media player that will give you give -- give them that content. But also given the ability to edit word documents were on spreadsheets and sort of be a little bit frequently office. What surprised that. Started -- the cheapest one is 219. That's the sixty gigabyte version. Thank you get -- either moved Flash Memory or -- our drugs goes public to 375. I believe. But it's very very competitively priced -- you're gonna be working on a review that we can read later. The reviews probably you coming you'd be coming up next week or the week after I had about the -- different road but I haven't used this for two or three weeks now so we must that that the dog food eating its."

" Over notes I've sobered. Cool want to read that then let's -- to talk about real -- who got a bump this week. Last week there was no earlier this week via broke who XR. And the standard edition and the high definition addition so the XR has a price tag of 129. I've been a huge fan of broken for quite a long time now I've had the course than the regular high Def. This is the back of that the device. You -- here about the real coup channel store coming soon. What what impressions we haven't we know that there's going to be a number of third party. Third party content providers coming -- any idea what it's going to be yet who's coming Hulu coming who -- we have -- of -- haven't talked."

" To those guys since its release. Me right now they have some of these to have Amazon demand and they have Netflix. And any number of those guys can you can price stockade Internet radio owners -- want -- for audio. Right because as the USB port to see you can just put you know. I mean presumably you could put -- you could run -- hard drive right in the back when it was -- right I don't believe we can do that right now when interest things about brokers are essentially. Bypassing everyone else and putting something living room which is kind of -- Two guys like Microsoft. Apple and also everybody in media. If you have a box -- living room -- have the TV you can deliver cool stuff to -- they're certainly catbird seat in that respect."

" Did they haven't met with a into the USB port yet but in terms of partner providers we are talking -- I think we are talking about. What you less things like Hulu dot com. And more things like the relationship with Major League Baseball imagine that the NFL have the ability to sell content directly to the subscriber without having to really -- a partnership with a -- cable company amended PC magazine. Why not to have their own real channels they could easily set that up on the road to. I don't have I don't have facts on this but from discussions -- people and getting the impression. The thinking of something more along the lines the video podcast section of the iTunes store only imagine that each one of these people who doesn't do these professional regular shows and delivered by video podcast. Could not get it to somebody who just gets it from their TV set with a remote control."

" Read the thing about Hulu they have to understand is that it's Hulu remember who owns Hulu and why it exists and -- Hulu exists."

" And one that's one of its -- conditions for existing is that it never appear on a television sentiment manner."

" It insists. To take content where the owners are getting it onto television sets in other means rent and put it on a computer so to put -- on a TV would below its owners' minds and their business spot."

" Yet -- you're absolutely right about that I believe even I think. We've talked before Leo. Leo you try to move it twit channel two two -- I think that's coming soon so yeah I think that there's a real real marketplace for a lot of these video podcasts. A lot of that content. It'll be just see what other web content comes because when I was -- guys from broker I think it's in between eight and twelve. Different content partners are coming very soon and of course that's all gonna come you didn't get the box now we're firmware upgrade will be probably coming forthcoming very very soon."

" Yet the main the main barriers that I see to that I -- to something like broke do even though it's great is cast that -- most people don't want more than one set top box connected to their TV. And they already have a cable box or some kind of DVR. So you end up with a situation that this has been apple TV -- problem do. -- it puts it the situation that they have might have a cable box with a built in DVR or an on demand and it made then they're like climate hooking up a second box and then I'm switching inputs and also my dvd player and when adding more stuff. Unless that is I don't know if I wanna make it out alive. But would yesterday just cancel my cable coverage my patents. I have the -- have -- AppleTV with -- my little tricks."

" You might amigos building alive and I -- I could mention I work here and that. I canceled my cable about a month at. I can't watch my own channel at home. No I I can watch in other ways it's about time in the office on what's in -- regular basis but yeah I mean again I get all this content time shifted anyway -- the only time that I really wanna watch -- television half the time is when I'm watching. Live sports. And you know to watch my Phillies in the World Series you know I can watch jump on Fox Broadcast about gravity is now my HD television -- can't believe. But it looks better then my cable box -- we know we all of the signals better that way."

" Yeah I did that a year ago like -- I got rid the cable or use a combination of rabbit ears and TiVo in the Internet and I think more and more people are doing that in the cable companies are getting a little bit scared of."

" And you're shaking your head as vulnerable here for cable wouldn't known only because you're if you find that the single biggest enemy of broadcast digital. Because the soon the moment let's switch over whether these -- TV set in my kitchen which is one of my big main viewer TV's. Went from getting nineteen channels to getting it. Two I -- eight I get ABC now I get the religious channel and I don't wanna watch anything anyone --"
