" Next week. Thursday November 5 that's when the house leadership is hoping to vote on its health care reform plan. The bill announced yesterday by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would include a government run public option plan. The cost estimated at 894. Billion dollars over ten years. Most of that paid for taxes paid for by taxes on wealthy Americans as well as fees and cuts in Medicare. Earlier this hour we heard from house majority leader Steny Hoyer who expressed confidence the bill will pass."

" More the vetting. -- reviewed discussion. Town hall meetings hearings. Caucus meetings discussion. Both sides. And then any bill frankly that I've been involved in. In the 29 years I've been in there in congress and I think when the bill is brought to the floor. I think we're gonna have the votes."

" Well that's the Democrats view of the Republicans in the house don't necessarily feel that way there were there -- reaction has been pretty swift and severe they are blasting the idea. But -- government run plan and the new taxes to pay for it all. Talk with a one of them representative Tom price who is also a medical doctor. You you say that essentially this is the same plan that Nancy Pelosi started with several months ago."

" That's exactly right John not tomorrow is Halloween but the American people won't be tricked into thinking this is a different bill. In fact the first -- was about a thousand pages this is another thousand pages total to 2000 pages on top of that. And all bureaucracy. And -- the majority leader said that the bill's been vetted and been talked about over and over and it has and the American people have spoken loudly and clearly that they do not want a government takeover of health care. But the bill still has that and it has 800 billion dollars in taxes 500 billion dollars. In slashes the Medicare this is moving in the wrong direction. And we ought not move in that direction out of step back work together which hasn't been done in the house work together come up with the right solution."

" But let me read to your quote from President Obama in July July 28 that and AARP town hall he said here's a guarantee I've made if you have insurance you like. You'll be able to keep that insurance if you've got a doctor that you like you will be able to keep your doctor nobody is trying to change what works in this system. What do you think about that guarantee from the president."

" Well that's a great guaranteeing they're great words that we -- to live up to that but the fact of the matter is that the bill that will be before the house this week. Will not allow that it will remove your doctor and remove the ability of you to pick your own insurance policy if it doesn't fit. The exact definition that the bill has for an insurance policy. And that's where the -- is so the fact of the matter is that this bill will change fundamentally. The way that health insurance is provided in this nation and the choices that the American people have in their health care. And that's not what the American people want to what we -- to do is listen to the American people fix what's wrong and our current system but keep what's right. And what's right is the ability of patients and families and doctors to make medical decisions. It's a little difficult to keep up with all these generations of the bills as they keep coming out of various committees and so forth but I know in the early going. The thinking was that there were actually eight years maybe seven years of expenditures. And yet ten years of taxation to pay for it and that's how -- the balancing of the budget gets done in this almost trillion dollar proposal is that still the case. I believe that's still the case again we've just got yesterday afternoon and another thousand pages but it may even be more than that it may be for years that taxes in six years. -- the policy. And that's how they get to court balance more years of taxes. In advances try to implement -- Exactly before the policy even begins. But the fact of the remains that this is this is Texas not just -- wealthy people with taxes on. Chapter S corporations which are a lot of the small businesses the job engine creation machine. In our nation. And that will be creates jobs so we're gonna hurt jobs we're gonna tax the American people more and we're gonna slash Medicare. That's not what the American people want it's time could respond to. But the American people -- over the past couple of months and that is to fix what's wrong in our system keep what's right.
