I'm higher feeling about the mid term elections that I know us up holiday thing you might have an eighty. C Washington Post poll and saying that some Democrats are in the generic match up our besting the Republicans. And also. -- the whole I want sack dance that was coming out for their -- on the generic match up there was that the the Democrats are doing better which I frankly I was a little bit surprised by itself."

" It it I I take all of that with a grain of salt as -- should in this job because every day the polls change. That on the generic ballot that we -- down mine just want me beginning of the year I think that gap is now somewhere between four and five maybe six points yes they went 39. How would you know which is it the gap -- a lot closer than 5139. That's the Washington Post and so that you I give that very little credence because I know how they do their polling. But there -- the but the reality of it is the gap is much narrower for Republicans are on the generic ballot. When I look at the races that we've got coming up in a couple weeks Houston in Virginia and New Jersey. I feel good cautiously good but good and and the reality is. That we've been able to work candidates and identify candidates and translate in you and I've talked about this before. You know that that the challenge for political parties in this new political environment. As the earth moves beneath our feet is having candidates who can keep -- moved and -- in New Jersey with Chris -- in Virginia with. -- With rob McDonnell Bob McDonnell we are doing very well in keeping up. Now what that means of Election Day you'll find out two weeks from tonight. But I feel good about where we are right now. And you've what would be your prediction I and I product -- make -- prediction on what would you predict permanent turns. I would for the mid term that's a very good question I -- that's still in a lot of flux right now. Will there be some pick -- Republicans gather some vulnerable blue dogs out there there's some vulnerable. You know left the Senate Democrats out there. But we've got some vulnerabilities through that we've got to shore up and we've got some open seats we've got some opportunity to challenge -- we still haven't gotten candidates fielded. So right now it's a 5050 crapshoot I think for both parties quite honestly I don't think that the president's -- Has translated effectively for the Democratic Party. And -- I don't think it is absolutely translated effectively put the for the Republicans yet. We still in both cases have to develop our own you know candidate. Abilities to get out there and connect. Issue oriented. Conversations that draw people into the into the debate. And then have something to put out there and that's where you're you're seeing the dance of health -- you're gonna see you don't cap and trade again you're going to see it on card check. Immigration these issues and begin to really shape I think the direction of the 30 elections. Four for both."

The cost of that health care. Who paced Houston how much do they pay these -- conversations that the American people still haven't gotten satisfactory answers on. It's a while the Washington imposed in the New York Times. Can show 51% of the American people want a government run health care. I've been out on the street enough to know that's not exactly where it is. -- government run health care first off. -- people not everybody having government guy yeah everything starts small for a small group of people just as they told us when they passed the Wal-Mart bill in Maryland. That was only going to affected companies with employees of 10000 or more. The next legislative session the legislature to move that number from 10000 to a thousand employees or more. And then it went that he had some proposing fifty employees or more so what may start off with a small universe of people who going to be covered by government health -- Suddenly encapsulates you -- our families particularly those who don't need it don't want it so with the slippery slope one is to be very careful before we get on it."

Yeah and a candidate that I think a lot of people actually share the concern that you just said again I don't share that concern and I wish that they would just push it through and used reconciliation and -- Don. I know that and rages everybody who's watching us but you know that's why I am but I do think that. That I guess the American people agreeing more with what you're saying that they think that they're trying to take on too much too fast."
