A pin that was that of a serpent what was the significance in what were you what what message did you have for Saddam Hussein when you wore this."

" Well if it worked for Saddam Hussein this book wouldn't exist I never actually met within that this is what happened. When I got -- little York it was right after the gulf war. And there were set of sanctions resolutions against Iraq that were part of the cease fire agreement and so every day in some way or another. I had perfectly horrible things to say about Saddam Hussein all of them deserved because he'd invaded the neighboring country. So all of a sudden the parliament appeared in the Iraqi newspaper the called me an unparalleled serpent. And since I had to say there already I thought I'd -- whenever we talked about Iraq. And a TV camera zoomed in not mentioned by wearing napkin and I said because he called me an unparalleled serpent. And I -- well this is fun so I went out and I've got a lot of costume jury. That would indicate what -- I was in or what we were gonna do at the Security Council I was the only woman with fourteen men. And they all had their power ties and so I then got flowers and butterflies and balloons when good things we're gonna happen. And spiders and bees when bad things were gonna happen and -- people said why are you doing that. I borrowed a page from the first President Bush who said read my lips but I said read my opinions and that's how the whole thing happened and I have had a lot of fun with it."

" So I guess to take a cue from Ross Perot you were saying you were just going to be a serpent of the people. That's. It's a terrible joke madam secretary forget David going there. -- want to talk to you also about that was of particular moment it was a very painful one for for many Americans and especially the Cuban Americans. Fidel Castro's government at the order of Raul Castro shot down two civilian aircraft. Four people murdered the that the word is murdered because that's what they did. " Well first of all win the civilian planes were shot down IA it was my job to get condemnation of the Cubans for doing that. They had given me a transcript of the really disgusting bloodthirsty things that the Cuban pilots were saying to each -- they went after our. Pilots and so I then had a press conference I did wear a bluebird that I usually -- with the head up as a soaring bird. But I then in honor the -- pilots I wore during a press conference with the head down. And then I went I was asked by President Clinton to go represent him. At the Orange Bowl in honor of the fallen pilots and it really was a crucial time of the executive order. Any embargo then became Helms Burton -- and I was very much a part of that."
