" By the way the GO GOP lawmakers talking about the questions they have about all the -- the Obama administration has brought and they handle everything from you David from the economy to warrantless looks listens to them."
" Thank you Jack and if you can see we have a team effort. Did get -- handle on this issue of the SARS. The American people certainly realize that this is one of those issues that seems to have. -- run and have expanded I think they also realize that not all stars are created equal. So what we have is a way to address this situation. I have a piece of legislation that we are introducing today and it -- over -- hundred original co sponsors on this BL. The deal will call for an immediate transparency. It real requests. -- White House three port to -- On the stars get positions who has been -- who -- not then it also calls for congress to hold hearings. On this process. That is being carried forth now. Here's a great example for -- DS is that application. That anyone is going through senate confirmation hands to feel now. For the Senate Armed Services. Committee. It is intrusive it is link they. In a -- a lot of information about who you are where -- What -- conflicts of interest would be it is what is required of someone that is going to go through the vetting process. To handle. The public trust we think that all stars should be required to display that type transparency. SS -- My resolution which is a sense of congress resolution. Calls for -- yet. Action for our report and for hearings. You're going to hear more about congressman Kingston this resolution -- the long term accountability. Component that. Process. And we have -- another. Process another -- congressmen still -- is going to speak to you about which would be. Does sun setting for all of the -- position."
" Well thank you martian thank you Jack for your leadership on this issue I think all of -- you can tell time. Have have had really serious concerns about this increasing trend of more as far as being appointed by people -- don't have the accountability and the transparency. That in fact President Obama promised when he was running as a candidate to provide. -- so what we're trying to do is shine a light. On the fact that you've got. This large number of people who are heading up agencies -- assuming titles and positions. That in essence have some parents give you some of the powers of a cabinet secretary the difference is none of these people went through. The formal vetting process that's involved -- senate confirmation. Which is a clear violation of the US constitution. And we think this issue needs to be addressed when I filed as -- 3569. Which is called the sac act. This bill would sunset also -- December 31 of this year. Now it still provides the process of somebody actually went through that vetting process was confirmed by the Senate than they would be able to retain their position. But for those people who circumvented. The transparent process -- involved in senate confirmation. They would be sunset and I think the American people have asked for deserve that kind of accountability from government people are very concerned as they see this alarming trend. In an increased number of people over thirty by most accounts of appointed by this president in positions of extreme power who have broad -- Ranging powers but without the accountability that comes with a senate confirmation process and so -- this legislation has nearly twenty co sponsors and -- the other legislation. It's continuing to gain steam to us as we try to rein in -- and hold these people accountable who have powerful positions in government that should be accountable to the people. Back to him. --"
" Thank you Steve and thank you Jack for your leadership on congressman Patrick -- from north Carolina's tenth congressional district. As a member clever site never reform committee that's the chairman. Towns to require all the SARS within the Obama administration testify."
" Now it says heard about a controversy about how many stars are actually are they're -- accounts of thirty and forty and various numbers are around there. The administration administration is not release these numbers."
" The concern that we have here on the hill and my colleagues here today. Our concern is that the constitutional process has been circumvent and by. -- your point of high administration -- officials who make policy."
" To be appointed in essence without senate confirmation that's counter to the constitution. What she thinks is happening here. Either of these SARS have serious policy making expertise and and power."
" Which -- be Canada constitution or they're simply figure heads at which point they're collecting salary for doing no work for the taxpayers."
" I think we need to have an open and -- parents and constitutional process to a point -- administration officials. "
" Furthermore if you look at an example of Carol Browner for instance she is in essence acting as a super cabinet secretary."
" Because she is in charge of both the Energy Department. And the EPA. So if you can see an example like that with an administration -- czar is in essence acting as a super cabinet secretary makes it very clear."
" they must go through the the constitutional process of being confirmed by the Senate. Furthermore it's not simply about senate confirmation."
" It's about being accountable to the people."
" Then Jones is a perfect example -- somebody who had not been vetted. Properly."
" And -- a simple Google search administration will be able to find his extremist past and it seems that they didn't even do that."
" That is sad. It's disappointing and it raises questions about all the other -- within this administration. So that's why we're here today to make the administration -- open and transparent thank you."
" Thank you and I -- my colleagues for bringing these important issues Ford many of us just returned from our congressional districts where we had town hall meetings. And a lot of people focused on the issue that was being brought up was the the health insurance plan. But I would tell you in many of -- town halls and I suspect my colleagues as well is the issue of these stars came up. And why did -- come out because these are unprecedented times in our country. The American people are seeing massive government intrusion in almost every area there -- laughing -- thank government takeover bites taken over auto companies. Now the government wants to take over their health insurance. And I see -- is our position being handed out like candy suckers. And I wonder what kind of accountability and transparency and it comes with these SARS that this president. -- him on his campaign saying we're going to be a very open transparent. Administration. Yet these people show up. And we know very little about them we know that they're getting party united salaries. That we don't have any information about I mean they're not accountable to anybody and so I'll plot my colleagues. These efforts to bring being brought forward and they are not our. -- from members of congress. Folks the real clear about what this is this is crap from the American people they're kind of fed up with what they see going on and they see this is another area of where more big government. Less accountability. And they're concerned about it -- idea."
" All of my colleagues for their -- I'm Paul Brown are represented Georgia's tenth congressional district. Constitution article one section one says all legislative authority -- and in congress United States. You have -- and establishing policy they're not just. A advising the president there establishing policy -- When we have. Justices is -- and and executive orders and establish -- wall outside of the congress the United States these things unconstitutional they need to be -- in. What we're doing is presenting. Bills that will hopefully open up this process will shine the light of day gets transparency. Congressman. Talk about is exactly right here in my town all -- are heard over and over again about the American public's fear of these cars. They are taking away freedom they're doing things that are unconstitutional. We need to stop this process we need to have an openness we need to call the president. To task and we need to call these -- to test to make sure that at least we have some dating in this process of establishing -- And -- we need to stop bizarre process Republican and democratic presidents alike. Have established -- it's been unprecedented the number that's been established in this administration. I believe it needs to stop. And I think American people deserve it."
