The One Thing: 9/12

Yesterday was the eighth anniversary commemorating 9/11 2001. In the spirit of 912."

" The day after the worst terrorist attacks in the US history when even French newspapers claim were all Americans. The French said that. We were united. -- remember what it felt like. I remember myself saying America has changed forever. I knew. Somehow or another I was wrong at the time but I -- wield it. We changed for a brief time and then somehow or another in middle of the night slowly but surely we slipped right back in the bickering and partisan. Actions. How did it happen. How did we lose that 912 feeling so quickly why did we stop going to church why did we stop. Looking at each other as Americans instead we start looking at each others -- a Republican and Democrats again. Well now here we are we don't trust each other anymore. It's always Republicans versus Democrats Democrats against Republicans. And independents against both -- this what George Washington. Warned us about in his farewell address. This very moment."

" Except he didn't envision the media the media continually. Is beating that partisan drama. Let me ask a question. Who in their everyday life worries about political party affiliate affiliation. You know what was the last time you had a barbecue at your house is that hey hey hey wait a minute here -- before you have any chicken or you're Republican or Democrat. If you had an accident or you were sick he went to the emergency room you filling out insurance forms how many times have you been asked what political party most -- I mean all the way and when you die you're standing at the gates of heaven with the proverbial saint Peter -- proverbial stands at those gates. Have a little box to be asked to check of -- Republican or Democrat before entering its ludicrous. Why are we doing this. It's this back and forth battled constantly at each other's throats that is stopping us from talking about the things that do matter. We're talking about health care now. Is that the top priority. This is the country that built the empire state building in just over 400. Days think of that. The tallest building in the world at the time. And all the way up until the World Trade Center was finished tallest building in the world it was built in just a little more than a year. That was in the early 1930s. The Twin Towers were destroyed eight years ago. And what has replaced them. This a year after."

" Are you telling me this country can quickly efficiently industrious league rebuild what was there but better. Come home you know that's not true we can put up the freedom to how word is that. So why don't we. I think it's bickering the battle the fight amongst ourselves that keeps us distracted. Our arguments come to all you just hate people. Are racist you're -- war monger you -- a poison people and starve children. I don't know a single person. Who wants to do any of those things. So why so many of us believe that so what -- have so many of whose teaching us to believe these things and to behave this way. There is only one simple answer and both Republicans and Democrats can unite on that it's our politicians. One of the issues we have is the spreading -- that capitalism. Is evil. That redistribution of wealth is a good thing and any time you mention the word marxism or communism the left now will paint -- with some sort of not job McCarthy right. First -- that's ridiculous. First -- for me I'm not a US senator. I have absolutely no power to subpoena witnesses launch investigations or accept huge contributions from George Soros or GE. Second without any of these radicals. In the obamas fear. We're just using their words. We just asked questions about their own words."

" This liberal will be all about socialized to. Would be about. Basically. Taking over."

Male prostitution Fannie -- scandals -- he's even looking into it William Jefferson bribes duke Cunningham and other GOP years. Our government is preparing. Before a potential crisis that we've been hearing about now a lot the swine flu. Let me show you something."

By having the disease in here. And then saying yeah we want to go ahead and we want to connect here in here and here in here and let's have a stimulus program and it spreads all over. So now how do we stop it. Can we stop it by turning in this special interest or unions -- corner SCI you can we stop it by exposing this people. You know what you do is you must quarantines. The -- NBC nothing in or out. If you do that the disease the plague will stop if you quarantine. It nothing in. Nothing out. How many of us have -- good people. Really good people had off newly elected to Washington DC and what happens. They change. After a few months -- a couple of years -- what happened -- this guy. They were infected with the disease in Washington DC of corruption. Know what end and no legislation comes out the infected legislation spread all across the country it's it's -- played. So now what do we do to stop it. How -- we stopped spreading the disease. It's time to -- reconnect with our founding principles. You know I was reading Thomas Jefferson the other dot -- it the other day and it gave me an idea. They didn't go against the king originally they were going against. -- parliament they were going against the people that were making all the laws. How many people do we have in Washington DC right now how many people do we have that are. That are the the ones in Washington. Passing -- laws. How many -- the un declaration of independence. 56. 56 and inside the original documents that every American patriots still believes and -- all of their heart for. 200 years later we still do Republicans Democrats independents we all do. 56 -- changed the world forever we currently have 535. People in the United States congress. Okay America here's what we do. We find 563. Founders in Washington. We find those 56 committed patriots. Who understand that there is a sickness there is a disease there is that -- are in our nation's capital and want to do something about it I have to tell yet. I believe there are people there that are worried that are thinking I'm part of that I didn't mean to I I compromised here I compromised here. I made one mistake in -- trapped. And I -- I'll be exposed for these people will crush me. Let's -- the Calgary for these people. Let's find the whistle blowers all we need -- 56. They want to -- found the nation. Help -- helpless get the disease out of their 56 we can do it I know there there. 56 who will not say that party is bad but will say my party is -- We must demand daily. Our representatives that they pass nothing until the corruption is stopped because it is a plague. Second we must let them know that we all make mistakes that person listening they're going -- Look. We offer them a chance of redemption if they've been part of the problem. Listen to me. Come forward. Let America know about it -- are forgiving people. That's who we are we believe in the underdog we believe in second chances. If you broke the law you obviously -- gonna have to pay for that but you know what. If you're helping clean up corruption in Washington I'm betting you're gonna have a lot of people in America watching your. Look at the people were standing now there -- looking for a leader. If there is something that you've done that is -- honored yourself your office your family confess it deal with it. I don't care what you did in your own personal -- your -- to -- that you're gonna have a pain in your family -- separate set for a but America. Will stand behind you if you help us clean up the mess. We need to offer. -- help for members of congress now that we know that. That that it's a plague that that's the number one thing some of them are like typhoid Mary man some of -- spreading corruption wherever they can some government doing an intentionally. Others can and will find redemption. And feel good about themselves and their countries again steal others. Others they're still gonna be those who who aren't infected fully yet. I had this idea the other night while I was reading Thomas Jefferson man. Let's search for the 56. Men and women. Who will help us we found America we don't need to fundamentally transform -- we need to -- it. All of the work they did the hard work are you smarter than George Washington Thomas Jefferson Benjamin Franklin. Name one person in Washington that is it a bigger brain than Benjamin Franklin."

Willing to put their nation ahead of themselves and their party affiliation. Stop America stop right now promised pledged to -- up. I am not going to be a Republican or Democrat I may vote for Republican or Democrat but that's not -- I -- start identifying yourself as an American patriot. The GOP. You need to clean up the GOP stop telling me about the Democrats clean up the GOP Democrats clean up the Democratic Party."

" Our lives our fortunes. And our sacred honor. If we stop talking. About policies and legislation. Passing. And we start talking about corruption and we demanded pool of total quarantines. Come out to CNN if you're more comfortable with that -- on the -- much help and NBC but come on CNN. It doesn't matter. At least I'm not I don't care who gets the credit for anything come out where every you have to come out. Just do it do it now and restore your own party the Republicans running out of time. Now if you're watching at home what can you do. You must apply the pressure on congress that enforces the quarantine. You must say I not talking to you about health care I'm not talking -- about defense I'm not talking to about anything no -- Nothing. And reach out to your neighbors with the facts not emotion not anger not finger pointing facts. Facts. Don't worry about the game players the people are just gonna love their party no matter what it's too late for those people. Those people were stuck in the right versus left forget about them move on talk."

" To the reasonable Americans. Can't seem to agree on anything anymore. You know the one thing on which all reasonable Americans can agree on. Corrections that. It's worse in our own government. Nearly every poll taken for the past several years number two concern on the minds of people and yet we're doing anything about it."
