Wet, Wild and Dangerous!

" Welcome to dock now. Everyday we hear reports children drowning in pools mean just today I think yesterday here in New York a little boy three years old wander off to a pool. What are some of the tips that we need to know about safety and pools and particularly. -- the first thing is supervision. We can talk about what you need to do to protect the -- but just knowing where the kids are -- mean most -- that they talk about. Your first thoughts -- the parents weren't watching the kid but most of the time there is one if not both parents around. And the children usually disappeared for just five minutes left --"

" You know my my littlest ones are three and four and I stick them in this via the Sunnis in the float tees and things like that because as you're trying to an -- you moms can relate to this. You're watching one and there's no telling how fat and that other one moves and -- you want -- products that you can. Feeling a little comfortable."

" But I gotta tell you you know I have three little kids and one of the first things I did is to teach to kids to learn how to -- I want to what is at the age categories of interest actually. It depends on who you talk to certainly by five years old they have the coordination in the understanding but you'll see that their children learn to swim with their three two and -- half. And some folks still believe in drown proofing babies and -- what what does that what does that exactly where where you literally take a mom and a -- your mom and dad get the pool at the same time. And they get the BB comfortable on the water and they let them go and they they actually -- a little bit but they very often -- right back up. I know that upset some your nose and throat doctors because it seems like they get more ear infections but on the other hand. The Davies you know that's exactly -- father did to make the fifth --"

" But anyway like the last thing planning but -- now that we have a lot of we have a lot of gadgets here what -- good ones and some of the that you know."

" Any toys as good as long as someone is watching the child if you put on -- yet let's talk about the water wings first and I think everybody's got the CBS the Duane -- whenever you can pick of these things. But some folks complain that they slide off or they -- they kind of they're -- cumbersome it's tough for the kids they -- their arms they come off."

" Very easily and the child isn't really gonna learn a natural motion to swim. If you put a -- let's say in just a standard kind of life -- especially the ones Coast Guard approved that float you with the head up. They can swim they have free arm motion. And if you do get distracted you're watching child number four while children two and three are fighting and the littlest ends up in the pool without you knowing. They're floating heads up and they can learn this -- and natural motion if you rely on those and one comes off the child's now sideways. They'll get in trouble quickly if you think. -- something like that what about this if this is called swim stat that the -- and this is for the -- it's kind of like a turtle -- Problem is that won't necessarily flip the child helpful and they'll fall right through it and there could fall through if they could get turned sideways. You know you think well if there and shallow water and they could just stand up to children won't always -- yeah."

" Other dumb -- telling you may -- has -- and every else is. But you don't I was thinking I was looking at one of the kids in the other -- young child's right -- half a water being. What's gonna happen. I just seconds in -- you know down underneath the water looking up at me like these but guys -- love what I do now. They don't have the natural instincts to stand up."

" A child can drown in one inch of water. Every year children -- in buckets. He's had a bucket on the Florida washed the floor child falls and things first they don't pull themselves and what about alarms for pools yet -- this is something that people talk about a lot. There's been a lot of headway in the country. With you start out with a with a fence around the pool. At least four feet if not five or six. Gates the clothes themselves automatically that -- themselves automatically. And then alarms or alarms that we'll tell you when someone's crossed into the pool alarms it'll tell you when the water's been -- alarms that go off when the water level rises. It to be careful of those because a little kid may not. Move the level of the pool very much."

" What about for older teens I see you've brought some products like to kick -- Some diesel slides. This spring float and the the boogie boards. Are -- safe because the kids to -- it's not a controlling their boogie boarding down the beaches."

" Yeah I mean you have to remember they first kids have to understand you everybody's and honestly if they don't know how to swim enough strong sense farmers that don't along the -- Certainly they need to understand right away that the ocean is not swimming pool. You've got currents you've got waves you've got sharp objects that rocks on the water and animals that jelly fish. And you've got you know currents and rip -- that can take -- out. They need to know they've got to stay within sight of people and lifeguards. And what but jet skis I -- I just bought and -- people want my nieces for graduation for -- eighteenth birthday. -- nice song I haven't -- I soccer thank you."

" What about those things well -- say you're brave uncle. Their votes you know they raided by the Coast Guard is boats and that's the scary part is they're much more maneuverable and they go. " So adding people are gonna take home a message when they look at it two ways when they they think -- be really fun. What would you have to keep in mind."

" Number one. The kids need to because its farmers -- they're below that age when they need supervision. They need train it if you can get some training courses get them swimming courses get -- safety courses. If they're gonna be on jet -- and listen as I don't -- there's -- stuck -- at least a million jet skis out that I got not to borrow his -- and we -- going to -- lot -- safety course that's a lot you know -- the quiet always had great together -- great safety courses -- the kids they just have to know its little things like. Looking back before you turn right -- right. It with jet skis you don't usually -- you --"
