Drive Thru Prayer

" Welcome back everybody -- you know that you get fast food from the drive through along with your prescriptions you're dry cleaning. Starbucks. Now you can add drive through prayer to that list in Chandler Arizona pastor Roger storms. Opened up his parking lots of people stressed out about any thing. Could just drive up and rolled down -- window and receive a prayer. Pastors Roger storms and Matt Myers joining us now to talk about this good morning gentlemen. Good morning good morning okay -- a -- how does this work exactly a car pulls up and what happened."

" we have volunteers from our church who are experienced in prayer warriors. And they simply walk up to the window usually one person because who want to keep it confidential. And say -- we pray about for you. And then the person would tell us what their request was their their burden was. And we would -- right there with them -- their car and usually they just say thank you and you know god bless you and then -- be on the way."

" Pastor storm -- pastor Myers I should say my first read about this. I thought that it was sort of turning church into into fast food and almost trivializing. Prayer but that's not what ended up happening Thursday night tell us how this went."

" But we -- really overwhelmed with the response we. We told our volunteers -- just one person showed up and one in -- be a success and that one person showed up half an hour before we even started. And we had several others come -- and request prayer and our thought was that. If we spent thirty seconds or ninety seconds praying with somebody and that encouraging them and that was a spark for them or somethin' that. Encourage and then there was work that so thrusted into realize anything it just showed care. To reach out and say hey. You we care about what's going lives and says god and so we knew we were trying to find creative way to reach out really show people outside the church. That god cares about them."

" Sure and you were able to reach more people individually then then you would have otherwise so. -- tell us describe some of the things that people were asking for help --"

" Well probably cause to classify most of the prayer request that would -- around either family issues -- financial issues people. Are struggling and their families -- struggling financially and sometimes they're in a related. But there are other things that were brought up as well personal concerns but. -- simply we just wanted to pray with people not to know that god loves them and we love them and that was our only goal was just to reach out to our community let people know that. They can bring god -- their lives."

" After -- also the guy who rode off on his bike. Yet he is very interesting and it is he wrote right up on vikings have a hard time and he lost his motor -- transportation obviously and he writes to work every day and all that so he -- 21 of our prayer warriors. At random we had three different lines. And the -- he wrote -- two with a man that for two years. Had to ride his bike to work and so is pretty ironic they've gotten really cool actually that god set that out. And that was able to encourage him then in his time."

" saw about thirty people last up -- storms what's the future of this drive through prayer for you."

" But we're going to offer this on the first Thursday at every month just an opportunity for people that drive and and that they can also email -- per request to our website as well we had a lot of people who have done that off some of these reports. But the first Thursday of every month from about five to seven we'll have volunteers in the -- and not talk confidential. And just people don't drive -- and just the say hey would you break me about this will be glad to pray with them."
