It's not at all happen I've read the book this is a very very touching story of two. Bonded friends. Tell me why you did the documentary. And the book."

" Welcome the documentary was originally not meant to be a documentary. We were in Germany when we first got their fair handed me her little hand held camera and -- here when you -- this doctors' meeting so I can remember what they say. And I said I don't know how to fill me if you can -- showed -- it's really easy and so we started filming it all just to document. -- for her for so that she can remember things and then. I think it was about nine months into at all -- she made a decision to let it become a documentary because she realized. She -- to the doctor one day in Germany she -- you know. I'm glad that I have cancer and the doctor said wolf why -- she said because now I know I can make a difference. She'd gotten so many letters of support from so many people and people thanking her. -- well and she said you know I really feel like I can make a difference I can I have a message. To get out and she wanted people to know more about alternative methods of treatment. And mainly she wanted to say just don't give up you know keep on fighting -- that's what she did she was amazingly resilient and she had incredible. Faith and determination and and strange and it's the same time she created a foundation affair -- foundation for cancer research and part of the proceeds of the book are -- go there. It was a very important cause to -- you know if she was gonna have cancer. She decided she was gonna use it to help people and she did."

" She wanted her story to be told and she that she did there was more to her than this glamorous figure that so many people. Knew her to be day that they maybe didn't know that behind that beautiful persona. Was a beautiful person inside who was struggling with the disease that so many people have had to face either personally or through their families. Was that what made her want to get this story out both put the film as well as with the diary which -- the -- a diary of your journey with --"

" These are my diaries and that period that we went through many which I read to her. She. It was originally her idea for -- to do the -- you know she wanted to get the message out there she wanted to help other people and the book comes from my point of view from the person that's with -- you know it's about our friendship and our bond and you know this experience with her was. In a way my gift to her because I can give -- my time in my love and my support. But it ended up being such a gift to me because I'd never been through anything like this -- my life I'd never been that person walking through this experience. With someone. Who unfortunately eventually -- inning when the documentary. When we were filming we thought she was gonna find a cure for her cancer when I was writing these diaries. I thought she was gonna be a lot."

" There were so many chapters a -- when I was reading that. It didn't it would be doctors who give you hoping you would just have your spirits -- all boosted and and to become a terrible report. And something I knew it it was this typical struggle that so many people I think experience."

" It was a roller coaster was just up the -- out and and -- And the person that's going through it with you you know you have to be strong for that person and we're -- I'm gonna go through this at one point I like if we haven't already we're gonna go through with a parent. And it was just it it was really. An incredibly. Wonderful experience in one way because she's an incredible person she was she had an incredible spirit she -- sense of humor. I hope this book is not only attribute."

" Her and her courage but. A celebration. Of her -- it's certainly a celebration of her and of an incredible friendship and we're gonna talk about that when we come back. And I want to ask you about a very very powerful part of her story. There we're gonna get to I think this is gonna be a very important one as we talk about.
