" It passes. The consequences will be faced by the next generation of doctors so then. What do the doctors of tomorrow think about what they're hearing today in Washington. This is a segment we've been looking forward to all morning and Jonathan Serrie Jackson Alison medical students and Emory University just east of Atlanta. For their thoughts and what they're hearing go forward Jonathan what a year."
" Emory University is one of the nation's leading medical schools and these are future doctors that you're looking at right now health care reform will affect them and they also. They have some fresh insight on how will affect views I wanna start out with just the general poll show of hands. Does medical care -- health care need reform. So it's it's unanimous so what we start here with Christina you are a third year."
" Yes that's the -- here medicine resident. Vladimir my training what is the -- well you know I'm in the trenches the man injured patients every day and for me I see the struggles they face it's about. Access and that's about affordability. And I can diagnose and elements of Elan but if they -- in the intake after pain I can't afford that medication but I really done -- my patient."
" And Elizabeth and Colin over here are both in a physician's assistant. Program this is considered a mid level provider and health care reform at least as it's currently proposed would make. This more of a part of the process when we start with you -- your thoughts."
" Share I very passionate about midlevel providers -- physician assistants and nurse practitioners are big into Q. Increasing accessibility to health care. We did -- part of a physician led team and really used this synergy has provided equity multiple heads together -- nation's public. And really. Making health -- something that's quality affordable accessible and PA's and nurse practitioners alike are ready to help."
" we're gonna see more folks like you in the future if they absolutely definitely I I'm hoping that we continue to grow. And -- all accounts say that we are going to continue to grow. And that that's going to provide more care for people that don't have -- right now the more -- you can get together less testing happens more thinking about what medicine happens. And the more under legal or not under utilization but not over utilization will --"
" And move into the left Joshua you are a second year med student. Are these exciting times or scary times to be training to be a doctor I think it's very exciting times I mean. You know all of the people might prosecute medical school in order to help people and to health care forms that are underway are gonna allow us to help even more people and to focus on quality of care center quantity. And Cindy you're a little different than your colleagues here you're actually a Ph.D. student studying health care policy. I want to ask you about this have been a lot of debate. Public versus private insurance or a hybrid system your thoughts on what what work that."
" Right I think it's really and about. The affordability and then protections that are in the insurance and so it -- it it really sort of the devil is in the details it depends on how. Whether it's whether the public option is included or not a lot of it depends on how the insurance is structured and some of the consumer protection that congress is talking about. Putting it private insurance will go a long way set to help not all the way but things like. I'm no preexisting conditions. And explosions things like that I can really can really help things but I will say I think. Daryn there does need to be changed insurance really has a couple of major functions that it's. Sort of a gateway -- access that it provides financial service protection and it's not really doing -- and we have certainly doing either particularly well right now."
" Sara -- you're a third year. -- school's student what are what are your biggest concerns when it comes to health care reform. "
" Part -- concerns revolve around the patient's perception of health care reform there's a lot of information out there and a lot of misinformation. And people who have theories of change in health care system are worried that the government is going to interfere with the doctor patient relationship. And I think as we work to reform the system we always need to keep that autonomy at the patient. And -- it. -- the nature of that relationship. As a priority."
" OK very good if it isn't safe to say that -- all cautiously optimistic or enthusiastic well what would you say is yes. OK very good well thank you so much for your time and we'll be talking with these students throughout the day had done noon and 3 o'clock as she and her."
" I love -- let me just pick up on on the last comedy we heard from from the woman is clearly far left she said make sure the economy is preserved. Between the doctor in the patients are all of -- in consensus on that. To make sure the government doesn't get between you and the person you're saying."
" I think day part of what makes that doctor patient relationships does take great is that it's attracts between. At her saying yes to people about someone's health care and their livelihood and I think it when you start interfering with that tracks. And can me. Can be scary for patients to reach out to doctors to be honest and not think I think it would -- assistant -- me we would like it preserves that."
" Best of luck to all you thank you for your you here and put down there at -- Jonathan thanks to see at 1 o'clock hour. And the 3 o'clock hours well bit later here on the Fox News Channel thank you --"
