But he endured such ridicule and mocking for his vision for Alaska. Remember the adversaries they stopped and they called the stewards following. And instead of sex disdain as he chose the uncomfortable -- an unconventional but right calf. To secure Alaska the Alaska can help security. -- but Alaska's mission to contribute to America. The worst strategic game where only anti aircraft -- around. Thanks and called visionaries -- do this and they do that Alaska would be part of America's great destiny in. Our destiny to be reached by responsibly developing natural -- sources. This plan -- twists and clean air and water and wildlife and minerals. And oil and gas from its energy god gave us energy it's a certain states. It is such humbling responsibility. Because I know when my soul that Alaska is of such import for a America's security. In such a volatile world today. And when I know but you know me by now. I promised four years ago that's I would be showing my independence and there would be no more conventional politics as usual we. We are doing so well my administration. My administration's accomplishments and they speak for themselves we worked tirelessly for Alaska news. We aggressively and responsibly. Developer resource centers. Because they were created to be used to better our world to help people and we protect the environment and a -- innocent resource owners. Foremost with our policies. Here's some of the things that we have got it. We've created -- between integrity office to oversee safe development. We held -- for Alaskan -- point Thompson and finally for the first time in decades you're seeing drilling up there for oil and gas. We have a GF the gasoline project how NASA bipartisan victory in the vote was fifty to one. Also succeeding -- protecting Hoskins has our clean natural gas will flow to energize Alaska -- of America. But it it's true that vary to different than what had happened before this time is through very competitive. Pro private sector project is the largest private sector energy project hammer. This is energy independence. And aces another bipartisan effort -- working as intended and industry is publicly acknowledging its success. Our new oil and gas cleared and equitable formula. It's so Alaskan it will no longer can ever be taken advantage of aces incentivized this new exploration and development and jobs. Previously. I'm not going to happen it's not with the monopolize. North slope oil -- We couldn't have previously it. Actions we usher in bipartisan. Ethics reform. We also slowed the rate of government growth. We worked with the legislature. To save billions of dollars for our future. And I made no lobbyist friends with my hundreds of millions of dollars in budget vetoes. But little beyond her means today is you're responsible for tomorrow. We get government. Out of the dairy business we've put it back into the card -- Japan where it should be. We've provided unprecedented support for education initiatives and with the right leadership. We finally filled a long vacant public safety positions. We built a sub cabinet for climate change. And we took heat from outside special interest for our biologically sound wildlife management for a -- practices. Predator control. We've broken neck and ground on the State's new. Prison. And we need common sense conservative choices to eliminate personal luxuries. I think I think yet in the shaft and the junkets and onto our eyes. And the lieutenant governor and I and we said no -- Gatorade is. We're really mirrors what success in this first term and this 6 us by 8 am proud to take credit. Before hiring great people. Our goal is to achieve a gas my project and -- oil and gas valuation and ethics reform in Carter's. We didn't see it's because of the people think good people. I've taken the slings and arrows without unpopular move because to veto that it was the right thing to do me because I know being right she is. Better than being popular and it wasn't a popular stand to take. Some of those dollars would harm Alaska who may harm America. I resisted those dollars because of the obscene national debt they were forcing our children to pay. Because of today's big government spending. It is immoral and it doesn't even make economic sense. Another accomplishment are not apartment protected states' rights to the huge US Supreme Court reversals came down. Against that liberal ninth circuit to citing an RC favor just the last two weeks. What -- protected and our constitution. And Federalist protects states rights and the mandated in the tenth amendment. Much about the good stuff in the spending more don't -- yeah. So let's say things changed for me on August 20 ninth last year."

Over the past nine months -- all sorts of -- the ethics violations such as. Holding a fish in a photograph -- wearing a jacket with a logo on -- and answering reporters' questions. Every these so off fifteen of the ethics complaints have been dismissed. We have one. But it hasn't been cheap and this state has wasted thousands of hours of your time and shelled out some two million of your dollars to respond to opposition research. And that's money that's not going to fund teachers more troopers or safer roads. And this political uncertainty. The politics of personal destruction. -- you're looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations. It doesn't cost them a -- So old when they're gonna stop draining the public -- systems -- other people's money in this game couldn't stop. It's pretty insane my staff and I spent most of our -- what we're dealing with us stock instead of progressing are speaking out. And I know that I promised no more politics as usual but this isn't what anyone had in mind for Alaska. If I've learned one thing. It's that life is about choices for him and chooses how to react to circumstances. You can choose to engage in things that tear down. More than build up and I choose to work very hard. On a path for fruitful mess and for productivity. I choose not to tear down and waste precious time. But to build up -- estates and our great country and her industrious and generous and patriotic and free people. Life's just too short to compromise time and resources. And though it may be -- dean and more comfortable to just kind of keep your head down and plot along and appease those who are demanding hey just sit down and shut out. But that's a worthless easy -- out that that's the critters way out. And I think the problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just kind of hunkered down and go with the flow club where fisherman we know that only dead fish and go with the flow. No productive fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts choosy -- wisely utilized precious time to build up. And there is such -- need to build up and fight for our state in our country and I choose to fight for it. An -- very hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government. And strong national security for our country and support for our troops. And energy independence. And for those who protect freedom and equality and life. I'll work hard for and campaign for those who are proud to be Americans and who are inspired by our ideals and they want to deride them. I would support others who seek to serve him or out of office. And I don't care what party they're in or no party at all inside Alaska who were outside of Alaska. But I won't do it from the governor's desk. I've never believed that I or anyone else needs a title to do this to make a difference to help people -- So I choose for my states' -- for my family. More freedom to progress all the way around so that Alaska -- progressed. I would not seek reelection as governor. And so as I thought about this announcement could eyewitness ran for reelection to what that means for laughs got. I thought about well how much fun some governors have a plane -- He may be traveler understate traveled to other states and maybe take their overseas international trade missions so many politicians do that and then I tied the that's what's wrong that many just accept that lame duck status and they hit the road they drop paycheck you -- get. I'm not gonna put Alaskan through that I promised efficiencies. And effectiveness. Somehow I'm wired wired to operate under the same old politics as usual. I promise that four years ago -- invented yet that's not what is best for Alaska at this time. I'm determined to take the right path through Alaska she even though it is unconventional and it's not so comfortable with this announcement. That I'm not seeking reelection I determine its best to transfer the authority of governor to lieutenant governor part now."
