" RNC chair and Michael Steele is here to go on the record music he's coming out swinging. At present Obama and new fund raising letter sent to more than twelve million. Chairman Steele -- Obama arrogant among other things RNC chairman Michael Steele joins us live. Why we fully get to the issue of fuel our letter and -- remarks about that yet president I'm curious about these tea party's. Yet it's it's partly to figure out whether this at one time deal with the best people to vote on whether some real movement what's your thought."

" Well I think it's a little bit of votes credit at this point I think what you're seeing is a realization by a lot of Americans that the president and the congress in particular. I've taken a -- that they're not crazy about they're not sure. Where this is all going at an -- but what they want to make very clear that is that we've had enough. With that with the spending we've had enough with the mortgaging of our kids future. With with debt creation. And this is I think a wonderful expression truly American expression. Of concerned and and defiance if you will. That the bottom the bottom line stop -- them they are joined the line in the sand as as -- pointed out at the Alamo. That says this is far enough we don't want anymore of this we -- a fair tax a system we want to make sure that we're paying our fair share. But we think right now the government the government is beginning to doubt which. And we want it stopped and we want to take a breath from this and let us -- up let's begin to trust small businesses again let's begin to trust. The communities that have built that the economy in the past as opposed to. This defiant rush. Towards the government would stop by the government. To taking greater control hiring and firing a CEOs determining the winners and losers in the marketplace. That's not the proper place for the government right now and I think these tea parties -- way of say expressing that."

" I want may -- tomorrow morning after the -- dust settles we can count the numbers and see -- reaction around the country went all the news organizations have reported from their communities. Right let's get your letter to twelve -- Pedro -- get yet."

" Now I'm gonna -- on that point. Let's let's not put too much and what the news agencies -- going to be reporting. We witness the MSNBC's of the world denigrate these individuals these men and women who have expressed real concern about where their hard earned tax dollars and going. We've watched them make fun of them as -- dismissed them that's the arrogance that I referred to in the letter that we'll talk about the moment that have riled people up right now."

" I think I think that he may even make a good Lansing -- though that no matter what will listen to the numbers and that and then numbers -- yeah actually you know -- hit the streets we'll have at least -- some indicator ad says to -- how serious -- this may be right now -- let your in the -- to twelve million people find the president arrogant and saying that let me take some that looked at my -- he said he showed an absence of wisdom on his European tour. Take it away what do you mean."

" How do you go to a foreign soil and and criticize the American people and referred to lots are hard -- work. Our concerns about our economy and our and our futures. As -- the fact that we may descent to disagree doesn't mean we're arrogant it means that was smart enough to give a damn. Was smart enough to be concerned by that by the approach that the administration wants to take on health care the environment and economy. So I I I was just put off a little bit by this. And and it just it was stunning to me and I -- deficit this this is the arrogance of power when you wouldn't use a consumer assume control of the White House. The Senate in the house and you've got the controls of -- power at your at your fingertips. To make these -- some Simpson's statements about where the American people are and how they feel about just spending of their money."

" Michael was this -- it -- statements do you think. Barack wedding and threatened the American people are they really directed the former President Bush we had -- Byron York on last night who said -- asserted his battle going -- between. The F former Bush Administration and the current Obama administration was very have been there in the fighting. Is it was it wasn't movies -- arrogant and was he making and they arrogant rude remark. In reference of prior administration -- about Americans."

" I think this is I love George Bush as not the president the United States anymore. And the fact that the current president wants to informed. Get involved and they have battled with the former president to me. Says a lot -- said that you don't understand what's at stake here for the American people I don't think that's and I think -- is exactly what's at stake. I think they want to put in place the collective -- policies that strip away individuality. The strip away the individuals. Decision making power. And supplant that with the government making these decisions on our behalf so I don't buy this all well -- you know we're in this pitched battle with the Bush Administration the Bush Administration could care less about this type of battle they're more concerned as -- as taxpayers like the rest of us what this administration the current administration's going to do. So when you go to a foreign solo you don't want to pick a fight with the foreign -- of what the former president the what what's the point and that it clearly was a statement about the mindset that this administration views the American people have and we reject that out of hand."

" You should mention that theme that President Bush says he was a uniter and I think that -- Obama is also said that he's uniter. And it it it doesn't like -- that it's in that we've heard very divide in this --"

" Well yeah but I don't think it's a -- a division so much Greta as as it is the American people are waking waking up. To some harsh realities our economy is slow -- slowed almost to a stall would jobs -- being created. People -- losing their homes and everyone in Washington. Nancy Pelosi Harry Reid are pointing fingers at Republicans as -- well this was your your mistake -- are my bad we -- that we made mistakes. But now you have the opportunity to move -- in a new direction and what is that direction what I call a collective us mindset. This says you load you with the individuals should be more interested in helping the collective therefore we want to decide how much of business should learn we want to decide who's wealthy and who isn't -- think we want to decide who the seals and -- and that in the people who run the businesses of this country should be. That's not what this is about this is the free market enterprise system put the controls in place that you think. Best regulate that market -- get out of the way and let us earn our money."

" I might -- you -- thirty seconds alone with President Bush is the target what do you what do you say don't. I mean if President Obama that's --"

" I've -- the president ought to stop and listen to the people. I mean they they the folks that are out here right now. Raising their voice. Are really concerned they're not just scared they're angry -- you need to pay attention and don't don't take. There -- sense of change to be something that undermines the core fabric -- what this country was all about which is freedom. Michael thank you."
