" A lot of people finding it hard to land a job these days and we're learning it's not just regular folks turns out even some of the world's top athletes are out of work. Billions of people watch literally billions watch the four time Olympic gold medalist Jason -- nudge out his competitor at the Beijing Olympics remember. These that was part of team USA with -- Michael Phelps remember this he was behind the fastest competitor at least a full body length. During that four by 400 freestyle relay. But he somehow managed to swim faster than anyone thought anybody ever good. He finished the relay in 46 seconds fans -- that is pretty much the reason Michael Phelps won eight gold medals at the games and he was awesome. Until lately is that doesn't have one single sponsorship. The Olympian Jason -- is that joins us now Jason great to see you congratulations thanks for representing us so well make --"

" For. Oh thanks thanks for coming on times are tough these days now. Yeah I mean it's not always a little tough in between the Olympic years and obviously with the times that we're going through right now in this country it's even tougher and -- You know luckily for me things are not as bad as that is for a lot of others you know what that performance I had amount they're doing a lot of motivational speaking and as far as the sponsors -- go. There are a lot harder than they were in the past and you know for a lot of the younger swimmers and people that just made Olympic team maybe they got an automated and get a medal there a different situation in those people are out there doing those motivational speaking so they're really rely on -- sponsors to get -- I'm kind of surprised that a lot of motivational speaking money still out there is usually it's the corporations paying them money you know. Yeah no definitely but the thing is for these companies it's a one time deal whereas when you're looking for a four year contract with the company is little different so -- easier for them give you one time fee issue up at their companies so aside from speaking you working. I'm not actually throughout the years you know I've seen a lot of people being on Olympic teams a lot of my friends that have had to go on get part time jobs are full time job to support themselves while they're training. And you know they haven't had the same kind of success that the people that have been -- women do their sport full time so. It's definitely hard out there and in this time it's a lot harder for most. And he hung up the swimsuit. No not yet come back in the water training and I'm looking forward to competing again this summer I've been we're really hard right now getting back in pretty good shape so. I still think the faster time to come. Right on are you buddies that got Phelps how's he doing. -- on but I last summer -- seem to be doing pretty well I mean he's probably stay pretty busy he's training again two and you know he's one -- it's not -- for sponsorship right now and but you know the rest of us here you know struggle a bit when it comes of that but I think dumb things -- you start to change a little bit for myself -- start to work out a few different things but. You know as far as the rest of Olympic athletes it's really tougher now.
