" The attorney general for the state of Illinois told Jane the other day when she's on happening now that she was going to be taking legal steps. To try to get Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich removed from office and that hammer has dropped she filed paperwork with the State Supreme Court this morning. Asking that he be declared unfit for office will that fly with the Supreme Court that is yet to be determined. But blagojevich remains under intense pressure to resign those calls for his resignation growing louder by the day. What the people of Illinois think about all this according to a recent poll blagojevich only has an 8% approval rating. Talk about it would John Howell the co host of John and Cisco morning show on 560 WI ND radio -- John what are your callers telling you. Well you know. I guess I reflect the callers -- we can all stand up and express our moral outrage at the egregious abuse of power but I think really honestly in Chicago and Illinois. We're kind of amused -- thinks he can get them on insanity. Deal he better start walking around this neighborhood and a bathroom right now like that. Now mob boss in Greenwich Village did a few years ago well 66%. Of Illinois residents -- released Chicago residents according to one poll are in favor of holding a special election. To replace him apparently they don't they don't want the governor the lieutenant governor somebody like that just picking. Who is going to I'm start picking who's going to replace. " Right exactly and you know the Republicans of course would love to have a special election -- couple guys I think would do very well mark Kirk. Congressman Peter Ross -- congressman here I think both those guys and have a good shot in a special election and considering the environment. But I think that even as even as. As many questions as regular Democrats might have about lieutenant governor pat Quinn who I think is a great guy and -- right guy for this time. I I think that. They would rather see pat Quinn. Appoint the next senator we'll a lot of people you know if if you don't know Chicago or Illinois politics and I'm not as well versed in it is say Jane isn't she grew up there but if you don't know about it. A lot of people are wondering. How come I mean how. How can this guy continue to function he just goes to work every morning and acts like he doesn't have a care in the world how can that happen. Because he has nothing else to lose he go to work every morning to push paper across a vast can be as ineffective as you've done probably for the past year. I don't think if he doesn't go today or this weekend I think we're in for a long haul. We were talking with Tom cross is the Republican House leader. Here in Illinois and he said we'll hill -- right away well that's that's fine impeach the Senate however. That's not that's out of a quick process this thing could drag on and what does blagojevich have to lose he estimated deal with Fitzgerald and who knows the panel entail."
