After being held up by a suit problem, astronauts wrapped up the third and final spacewalk of space shuttle Atlantis' mission, again ahead of schedule.

Spacewalkers Satcher and Bresnik are back inside the station, and have closed and locked the hatch, wrapping up the mission's third and final spacewalk. Bresnik took time to thank his wife Rebecca for giving birth to the couple's first daughter Saturday.

"I got to see my little girl for the first time yesterday," Bresnik said at the end of his spacewalk. "Thank you to my wonderful wife for bringer her into the world. That is the most beautiful thing I've seen since I left Earth."

A valve on the drink bag in astronaut Robert Satcher Jr.'s suit came off Monday morning, as he was getting ready to step out. Mission Control instructed the crew to reattach the valve to the water pouch. To everyone's relief, the valve went back on tightly.

The two hooked up a fresh oxygen tank and science experiments at the International Space Station today. Even though the current spacewalk started about an hour late, NASA ended it at its originally planned time, around 2 p.m. EST. The spacewalk lasted about 5 hours and 30 minutes, but as with earlier walks, the astronauts were well ahead of schedule.

NASA notes that the Materials International Space Station Experiment, or MISSE 7, being hooked up this morning is the most advanced science payload to date. It will be the first to receive power directly from the station and use the station’s communication system to send commands and downlink real-time data

Bresnik is still walking on air following the birth of Abigail Mae. She arrived just hours after his first-ever spacewalk Saturday.
