The museum on an aircraft carrier would display the orbiter inside an enclosed hangar on Hudson River Park's Pier 86, near where the carrier is more or less permanently berthed.

KSCVC plans a $100 million exhibit that would display the orbiter "in flight, showing how the spacecraft worked in space and providing a unique vantage point for guests."
National Museum of the U.S. Air Force -- Riverside, OH
A "Space Gallery" display at the Air Force museum would also include Mercury, Gemini and Apollo spacecraft.
Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center -- Chantilly, Virginia
Space shuttle Enterprise, on display at this Smithsonian museum since 2003, would be replaced by Discovery, according to National Air and Space Museum curators.
Adler Planetarium -- Chicago, Illinois
