Alessandro Passante is the manager at PizzArte, a Neapolitan restaurant and gallery in New York City.
An explosion of Mediterranean flavors, this drink is based on the flavors of a classic pizza margherita, with sweet tomato and basil mellowing the usual kick of the tequila and lime and orange liqueur adding an acidic punch.
- 3.5 Oz. tomato & basil infused tequila (silver tequila works best here – an aged tequila adds a bit too much smoke and competes with the other flavors)
- 1.5 Oz. Cointreau
- .5 Oz. fresh lime juice
- Smoked salt (for rim)
- Cherry tomato, mozzarella, basil for garnish
