About David Burke
Chef and restaurateur David Burke opened what is now known as David Burke Townhouse on New York's Upper East Side in 2003. His other eateries include David Burke at Bloomingdale’s, Fishtail, David Burke Kitchen in NYC, New Jersey’s Fromagerie, Connecticut’s David Burke Prime and Chicago’s Primehouse.
Every Saturday and Sunday, David Burke Townhouse in New York serves “Burke’s Dozen” for brunch. The menu changes weekly and includes delicious dishes like these oatmeal pancakes with Guinness syrup.
Ingredients
Oatmeal pancakes
- 3/4 Cup oat flour
- 1 Cup all-purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoon sugar
- 2 Teaspoon baking powder
- 1 Teaspoon Kosher salt
- 3 Tablespoon melted butter
- 1 1/2 Cup milk
- 2 Cup cooked oatmeal
- 2 Tablespoon honey
- 2 Eggs
Guinness syrup
- 2 Bottles of Guinness
- 1 Double shot espresso
- 1 1/2 Cup sugar
Preparation
For pancakes:
Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour batter in a frying pan or on a griddle to create 6 inch diameter circles. Cook until they bubble and flip. Cook until golden brown. Yields four servings (2 pancakes per person).
For syrup:
Combine all ingredients in a pot and cook on low-medium heat until syrup consistency.
