Spice up plain popcorn with nutmeg, pepper and cayenne. Replace butter with coconut oil and make a few batches at once-- the crowd will be coming back for more. This recipe for the spice mix will make multiple batches and lasts for a few weeks when sealed in an airtight container. 

Ingredients

Spice Mix

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp. smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp. ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

For the Popcorn

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels
  • 2 tbsp. Vita Coco Coconut Oil, for popping
  • 3 tbsp. Vita Coco Coconut Oil, for coating (melted)

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium sized pan with a fitted lid, heat Vita Coco Coconut Oil over medium heat.

Step 2

Add kernels and swirl to coat. Place lid on and shaking occasionally. Cook until kernels stop popping.

Step 3

Transfer popcorn to a bowl and drizzle with the melted Vita Coco Coconut Oil, then season with the spice blend to taste.
