Making a hasty retreat from the Golden State, celeb couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey have sold their Encino, CA, house for $4 million -- exactly what they asked for and nearly a million more than they paid for the home in 2011, TMZ reports.

The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home in the San Fernando Valley sold in just two months, standard for the luxury California real estate market. The Mediterranean-style mansion, with 8,134 square feet, features vaulted ceilings, covered patios, pool, and basketball court.

The Daily Mail says the couple and their two kids -- 3-year-old son Camden and 1-year-old daughter Brooklyn -- spend most of their time in Cincinnati, Nick's hometown. In fact, the Encino home had a University of Cincinnati Bearcats logo prominently displayed on the basketball court.

The listing agent for the sale was celeb Realtor Mauricio Umansky from The Agency, who is generally considered the hunkiest of the "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" husbands: He's married to actress/shopkeeper Kyle Richards.

Nick, lead singer of '90s boy band 98 Degrees, was a reality TV trailblazer when he appeared on 2003's " Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" with Jessica Simpson, his wife at the time. Vanessa is a TV host and actress, best known for her work as correspondent on "Entertainment Tonight."
