Defenseman Alex Goligoski is a standout on the Dallas Stars, but his recently listed $2 million home is the true superstar of his block. The four-bedroom Highland Park Colonial was once voted one of D Magazine's Most Beautiful Homes.
Goligoski -- a Minnesota native turned Texan -- began his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2009. In 2011, he was traded to the Stars, where he serves as the team's alternate captain.
There's nothing rough and tumble about his glamorous Dallas residence: The enormous chef's kitchen gleams with all-white paint, with trendy marble countertops and a farmhouse sink.
The marble theme continues in the family room, extending to the chic fireplace mantel and reflected in the patterned carpeting. You'll find it echoed upstairs in the spa-like master bath, with large picture windows overlooking the nearby neighborhood.
Outside, brick floors and a brick fireplace create a cozy backyard patio just steps from the pool. A built-in outdoor kitchen means never having to stay inside on a hot day -- just grab beer and brats, and relax in the Texas sun.
