The story of a completely rehabbed historic home in Omaha -- complete with a cozy fireplace and carved wooden staircase -- has a leading man attached to it. Now taking center stage is the late actor Marlon Brando's childhood house. The beloved (and eccentric) thespian won Academy Awards for his iconic roles in "The Godfather" and "On the Waterfront."
In late November, the one-time home of the eight-time Oscar nominee went on the market for $260,000.
Inside the five-bedroom, four-bathroom house -- which was built in 1900 and spans 2.5 stories -- are timeless details such as french doors off the dining room, a gorgeous entryway, 9.5-foot ceilings, and two fireplaces (one in the living room, another on the lower level).
The entire third floor has been converted into a master suite, and the formal dining room easily adapts to today's entertaining needs, whether it's a book club gathering or holiday meal. A sunroom and office have also been added to the modern-day layout.
The large yard, which currently has a pool, has ample space to start a garden or construct a patio or dining area. There are also two porches on the home's backside, one on each level.
We'd recommend making an offer the sellers can't refuse. But we hate clichs!
