The living room, Provenzano's favorite space in the house, is massive with an exposed beam ceiling, wood floors, and wall-to-wall french doors that open to the patio.
"You hear a lot about homes that transition from indoors to outdoors, but this is the real deal," says Provenzano, "It's a seamless transition."
Outside, the patio has a kitchen, fireplace, and wiring for a flat-screen TV. The pice de rsistance: "Electric Lutron shades come down and enclose the outdoor patio, so you can double your living area with the flip of the switch," Provenzano says.
The massive kitchen and dining area combo are full of personal touches. An antique-looking china hutch is built in to the breakfast nook, adding storage and freeing up space in the kitchen.
A sliding barn door made of reclaimed wood separates the space from the hallway. The kitchen's top-of-the-line Bertazzoni double oven and custom light fixtures were "sourced by local designer Judith Winchester in Dallas' design district," Provenzano says.
The master suite is large and bright, and the master bathroom is decked out in calming shades of white and gray. The spa tub sits in an arched nook encased in mosaic tile. A large hutch adds softness (and storage) to the room. Having guests over? There's also a master bedroom on the third floor.
The design is elegant but not stuffy. "The Horcoffs have three kids," Provenzano says. "So while the house is beautiful, it is also family-friendly. Everything wears well."
Horcoff began his pro hockey career with the Edmonton Oilers. He was traded to the Dallas Stars in 2013 and had two successful seasons in the Big D. However, Stars' general manager Jim Nill recently announced the team won't re-sign Horcoff for the upcoming season.
And while the Horcoff family is likely leaving the Lone Star State behind, the star forward isn't hanging up his skates. Horcoff is looking for a new opportunity in 2015. Stay tuned, puck obsessives.
