A 5.9-magnitude earthquake rumbled off the coast of Oregon Saturday morning, followed closely by a smaller earthquake near the California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The larger quake occurred at about 7:45 a.m. PDT 112 miles west of Port Orford, Ore., the USGS reports.
Less than a minute later, another quake registered in the Pacific Ocean about 5 miles from Somes Bar, Calif. The USGS reports that quake had a magnitude of 3.8.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
