What a terrible joke you played on the American people. It speaks volumes that in the total wipeout of Republicans that is upcoming, you are going to lose big. I'm a Florida Democrat. If I were in your district, I would vote Republican in this race to spite you. You could have solidified that district as blue, but you blew it. Even knowing what your predecessor did, you messed around. You, sir, are a hypocrite. You, sire are what is worst about politicians.

Don't be silly.....Tim Mahoney is cleaner than the average dem -- in fact it isn't unusual for them to take a $100K bribe (for example), and discuss on video what will be required for that bribe, and hide that money in his freezer, and still be in Congress years later......if Mahoney just sticks to his guns, he'll probably be made majority whip, maybe even speaker.

MCAIN AND PALIN HAVE BOTH HAD AFFAIRS McCain had an affair on his disabled wife with Cindy. Palin had an affair in 1996 with Todd's business partner. Take your blinders off and do your research. For some reason- politicians think they can do whatever they want.

But if this is really no big deal, nothing the john q public needs to know about, then why didn't Nancy Pelosi felt it to have a heart to heart with him about it several months ago? shouldn't have run on the cleaning the bighouse up if he was going to bring his own garbage.

by randy Texas [Oct 14, 2008 4:14:23 PM] What's the surprise? Democrats are expected to have affairs, make payoffs, take bribes and hide the money in a freezer, etc... Nothing in the story that out of the norm for a democrat. ************************************************* Are you forgetting to add McCain and Palin to the list? McCain had an affair on his disabled wife with Cindy. Palin had an affair in 1996 with Todd's business partner. I guess this is 'norm' for Republicans.

Pattern here?? Elliot Spitzer, Kwame Kilpatrick, John Edwards and of course William Jefferson Clinton. Interesting how the MSM can mash this when they all but accused Mark Foley of being the second coming of John Wayne Gacy.

Are you kidding me??? If Mahoney was a Republican, it would be all Mahoney, all the time!! With comercial breaks talking about the Culture of Corruption. When the Foley thing broke it was on every station and every headline. Plus they would say Republican Foley, this and Republican Foley that. They said Republican so many times I thought his first name was Republican. Yes there are differences, no one under 18 was involved, but to say this is no big deal and to defend this man??? What Foley did was wrong, what Mahoney did was wrong! All I ask is equal treatment for all. History Repeats NY, saying that anyone outside NY or LA is intimidated by intelligent candidates? Tell you what, if you find one, let me know, SHINEBOX.

if you recall in 2006, 5 weeks before the midterm elections, you couldn't change the channel without Foley, Foley, and more Foley. im sick and tired of this clear double standard, that is becoming the standard.

historyrepeats proves my point. He argues that the current scandal is OK because there was a worse one. While that is seriously debatable, it's irrelevant. Why can't liberal accept the fact that one of their own actually got caught? He did it. It doesn't matter what someone else may have done. It's like saying beating someone with a baseball bat is OK because someone else shot and killed someone.

Diddling the interns is certainly bad, and horribly irresponsible. But all contact and communications were to people over 18. There was a huge uproar by the Democrats over that issue, as there should be here. However, there remains the typical response by Democrats, justifying behavior by pointing to what they perceive as worse behavior. Obviously they cant' afford any moral scandals during the election season, especially when they promised to clean things up. Maybe we need to have all elected officials take libido depressing medications while they are in office.

irishdc [Oct 14, 2008 1:52:30 PM] ACTUALLY if you look at the last 20 yrs with the democratic nominees they were all much more qualified then there republican counterparts. but the middle of the country is intimidated by intelligent candidates so they make their uninformed decisions based soley on fox news and ignorant, pill popping talk radio hosts that say somebody is elite and out of touch if they went to a good college. since when did being smart DISQUALIFY somebody from leading this country??? i dont know why dont you ask people like karl rove that?

this means NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTHING~!!!! should i repeats myself?!?! what in the world does this have to do with ANYTHING?!?! i wonder if this was a republican would it be a headline?! personal relationships have nothing to do with politics at all. yet bill clinton was impeached over it, and the republicans spent millions and millions in tax payer dollars to pin that on him, but bush puts us into a war for the wrong reason with NO exit strategy and completely blunders the occupation of iraq which results in countless lives lost and the morons that were screaming for clinton's head are quiet as a mouse!!! foxnews is a propogandist network it is absolutely disgraceful and something needs to be done about it!

Some people seem to be confusing a bad ethical and moral choice by mahoney while working with the hired help, giving our tax dollars to a mistress with a bribe, to mcain leaving his disabled wife. How does anyone but mcain know what kind of realtionship mccain and his ex-wife had. That's unfortunate that his ex-wife is disabled, but beyond that, maybe they had other relationship problems. I'm not justifying his cheating, but I believe this is a different circumstance.
