Former President Clinton said Tuesday that the presidential campaign had been "endlessly fascinating," and predicted that it still has a few twists and turns ahead.

But Clinton, seeking to stay above the fray of the Democratic convention less than a mile away, didn't look back at how Barack Obama had bested his wife for the Democratic nomination.

Speaking to a panel of other ex-world leaders, Clinton said the real issue is whether democracies can deliver after elections are over.

American and world leaders must return their focus to great challenges like global warming once their fascination with the U.S. presidential campaign ends, Clinton said.
