Vice President Dick Cheney plans to attend and speak at the Republican National Convention next month, FOX News confirms.
"The vice president looks forward to participating in the Republican National Convention and continuing to work for the election of Senator McCain and other Republican candidates in the coming months," Cheney spokeswoman Megan Mitchell said.
The announcement comes after there was some initial confusion over whether Cheney would take the rare step of skipping his party's convention.
Presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain has walked a tightrope with the Bush administration. While he reaches out to the conservative wing of his party, he is also battling charges from Democrats that he will bring the third term of the Bush administration if elected.
Six Republican senators have decided to skip the convention in St. Paul, Minn., for various reasons.
