A radio ad -- part of a $100,000 ad campaign by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee -- will not get airplay on a Philadelphia radio station after KYM-AM's general manager decided that the President Bush impersonator is too realistic.

According to The Hill newspaper, radio station Vice President and General Manager David Yadgaroff refused to play the ad, fearing "listeners would have been misled," the newspaper reported Thursday.

The ad, which is airing in 13 congressional districts held by Republicans, uses a narrator impersonating the president, who calls GOP lawmakers to thank them for "continuing to support the Big Oil agenda" as a member of the "Grand Oil Party." GOP actually stands for Grand Old Party.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee suggested the radio station's refusal to play the "parody" is condescending to its audience.

"The station didn't think their listeners were savvy enough to understand it [the Bush impersonator] was a parody," DCCC Communications Director Jennifer Crider told the newspaper.
