Bill Clinton isn't the only one roaring mad about a Vanity Fair article released this week that attacks the former president and suggests he is out of control personally and "seeing a lot of women on the road."

Actress Gina Gershon, who was named in the article as a possible paramour of the former president, has demanded a retraction and correction, according to TMZ celebrity Web site.

"Through the innuendo-laden assertion that Ms. Gershon has been 'visiting' with President Clinton in California, the article outrageously insinuates that Ms. Gershon has had an inappropriate sexual relationship with President Clinton. This is absolutely false ... and she is extremely offended by the false and defamatory inference that she engaged in an adulterous relationship with the president," reads a letter from Gershon's attorney Lynda B. Goldman of Lavely & Singer law firm.

In the article, Todd Purdum wrote, "Over the last few years, aides have winced ... at more recent high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip that Clinton has been seen visiting with the actress Gina Gershon in California."

According to Gershon's attorney, "The truth, however, is that Ms. Gershon has only been in the same room as President Clinton on three occasions, during which she was always in the presence of anywhere from approximately a dozen people to several hundred or more.

"These are the true facts. ... It is clear, however, that Vanity Fair wasn't interested in learning the truth. Rumor-mongering was substituted for fact-checking," the attorney wrote.

In descriptive terms, Clinton too criticized the article as full of falsehoods. Hillary Clinton's campaign had to reel back some of the president's more colorful language about Purdum, whom Clinton described as “sleazy," "dishonest," "slimy" and "a scumbag."
