DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa Democratic Party's chairman is accusing a congressman of violating House rules by posting disparaging remarks about Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama on his congressional Web site.

Chairman Scott Brennan says he has filed a complaint with the House ethics committee against Steve King, an Iowa Republican. King drew national attention in March when he predicted terrorists would be "dancing in the streets" in greater numbers than on Sept. 11, 2001, if Obama becomes president. King also said that Obama's middle name, Hussein, "does matter."

Brennan says King violated House rules by posting a transcript of those comments on his congressional Web site. He says King is not allowed to promote his political views on a taxpayer-paid Web site.

He cited House ethics rules, which prohibit the use of taxpayer-funded material for references to campaigns or elections.

Aides to King did not have an immediate comment.
