Hillary Clinton won the Democratic primary race in Tennessee on Tuesday, and Mike Huckabee won support from Republicans, FOX News projected.
Exit polls show a majority of voters in the Democratic primary were white and women, and that Clinton ran strongly in both demographics.
At least four counties had to close polls early on Super Tuesday because of severe weather. West Tennessee was hit by strong storms, and possibly some tornadoes, before the polls closed. Dyer, McNairy, Tipton and Fayette counties closed some precincts early to protect election workers during the severe weather.
Emergency officials say a tornado touched down northeast of Memphis. A front moving into the state was predicted to bring strong storms with damaging winds, hail and the chance of tornadoes.
Tennessee has 68 Democratic delegates and 52 Republican delegates. Huckabee found strong support among evangelical voters.
