Republican John McCain says he is staying in Florida to campaign instead of attending President Bush's State of the Union address tomorrow night.
McCain is locked in a tight campaign for the Republican presidential nomination against former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton plan to attend the State of the Union. But the significance of Florida's vote for Democrats is diminished because the national party stripped the state of all its delegates to the nominating convention for holding its primary too early.
The Republican party imposed a similar penalty, but the winner will still get 57 delegates.
